I always thought Sony just added the camera accessory for the hell of it, then sent it out to die. But it seems to be selling very well. It's sold out at Amazon, Gamestop, and Best Buy. Kind of confusing me, maybe the playroom is funner than I thought.

I agree somewhat with Trunkin. They didn't send it out to die, but they certainly didn't expect all the playroom streams.

Yup, the PS4 camera is very hard to come by. Was selling over $110 on ebay.

I might pick one up if it proves itself useful.

It is occasionally useful to talk to my PS4, but really really not necessary. Buy yourself another game instead

The kids liked the playroom, it was fun for a couple of days.
I haven't touched the camera since, not interested in face recognition or voice control. All I want is a new Pixeljunk 4AM experience, or something else unexpected.
If you're deciding between a game or the camera, get the game.

I picked up one in the UK during the boxing day sales for 20 quid (about $32) Works quite well though I only messed with playroom for a bit, the rest of the time just using for voice chat in games.
