"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Impossible. Wii U will never lose as much money as PS3 if any at all.

So Nintendo's losses are coming out of thin air, then? Surely you aren't suggesting the 3DS of all things is being sold below production costs.

OT - I hope it goes on to sell alright at least. Although unlikely, some 40 million would be good.

PS3 will end up around 100m and I don't think WiiU can do that, but it can turn profitable I think. Maybe 60m or so?

This is actually a great point. The WiiU may be losing money now, but will eventually become profitable overall for nintendo. The PS3 will never be able to recover its loses for Sony. And at the end of the day, profit is what matters.
