Perhaps a little overhyped but that comes as a bonus when hands-on impressions have been so good. Everyone who tried it is praising it. That must mean something.

It's a 95% Meta incoming and will be absolutely huge. Between all three versions it should reach 10 million in 2014 (and with the sequel likely being on PS4 it will grow to the extent of going head to head with COD in popularity).

Also the timing of release couldn't be more perfect by releasing so close after the disappointments with Call of Duty Ghosts, Battelfield 4 and Halo on a decline.

lol.  You keep saying this dont you mate.... I guess you will be right eventually, perhaps by Halo 9?

No chance.

1.) Halo as a series is on a slight decline, and gets fierce competition from COD.

2.) All software sales are down this late in the gen (TheSource could probably show those charts which say SW is down 20% on a yearly basis and that has to reflect on big titles as well).

3.) And there's not much time for having as long legs as say Halo 3 since Xbox 3 is only one year away and after that the interest in the X360 will rapidly decline.

So a realistic expectation is 9 million lifetime for Halo 4.

9 million already and still counting.  Tracking ahead of Halo 3 and there is no doubt it will have far higher digital sales already too.

It is on a decline though.

I heard only 20.000 people are playing Halo 4 online at any given moment while at the corresponding point in time 1 million was playing Halo Reach. It's not even in the top 10 of Xbox Live.

It's still a fairly big game but no longer a phenomenon and console mover. Titanfall will push down Halo even further.

"a fairly big game"

unbelievable.

A very big game then? Would that seem more correct?

Halo still a very big game but would no longer by most people be described as a phenomenon and big console mover like it was in the past. Halo is clearly not as important to MS in the current climate of several gigantic competing shooter franchises. Wuld that be more nuanced?

In terms of how good a game it is? Probably not. It seems like a pretty good game from the footage I have seen. The only problem I have with it is that it is online only, while I prefer single player. Not that I wouldn't try the game if I had the chance.

In terms of being a HUGE system seller that could help push it even, or past, the PS4? Most likely. What those people fail to realize is that this game is going to sell around the same, maybe more, on 360 and PC. Maybe if it had released a little later in the gen, or had been an actual One exclusive, it would have helped (though it definitely wouldn't have pushed it to make up for the 1.2M gap, which will be larger by the time it launches.) Then there's the fact that the sequels (and possibly the first, eventually) are more likely than not to release on the PS4 in a year or two. With that version being the definitive console version in terms of graphics and performance.

I would actually say that Halo is more important to MS than ever because the X1 really needs it to establish a larger userbase. Gears and Fable have severely regressed over the past few years, so it's now basically down to Forza, Halo, and new IPs. Also, you guys should take this conversation somewhere else as this thread is about Titanfall, not the Halo franchise.

OT: I say that Titanfall is overhyped when it comes to moving X1 units. I'm saying it won't, but it won't be anywhere close to what Halo can do. Titanfall is also slightly overhyped as a game. If the AI is anything like it was in the alpha, then the AI is totally pointless. The action is nothing close to what was advertised when it was first announced. Titanfall will play very well, but the inclusion of unneccesary AI brings the quality down a notch.

Well, it is a US most hyped genre FPS exclusive to US most prefered console after all you know...

I agree with you. I see nothing of note.

Its EA pressure on the media as usual.

Full price, no single player... yeah i really dont see what the fuss is about. You can run in walls and drop on some mechs. 60 bucks for that! Yeah... i dont get it.

Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Popular doesn't mean it appeals to everyone, just a lot of people. There is a reason why this game stole Destiny's thunder at E3. The kills in this game are going to be insane. Microsoft played it smart with EA in their deal to keep this game secure for one iteration. It solidifed my Xbox One purchase over PS4 purchase for sure.

If you say so. Theres alot of COD fans out there aswell. But at least that has a single player mode too.

I hope you dont come to regret your decision when you see cool stuff on the PS4 aswell. Also let me make a prediction for you since this is an Xbox exclusive. Those DLC maps, you are gonna have to pay some more for them aswell. If you think thats a good deal, props for you. Enjoy!

Sony is the better long term console, but Microsoft knows how to market their console to cover up their weaknesses which is first party. They buy up all the third party real estate before Sony even thinks to and its smart. Sony's first party is better and it will start adding up on Microsoft because companies like Capcom will eventually put Dead Rising 4 on the PS4 and Titanfall 2 will come to Sony. I just want to play the games now. Microsoft is a marketing machine. Everything is perception for them rather than reality.

Not according to the people who have played it. Actually playing the game > fanboy speculation. The game is gonna be a huge.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

I think Titanfall looks really good and it would be the game (besides Dead Rising 3) that would get me to buy an XB1 if it wasn't coming to PC as well.

Yup, it's overhyped. Just like Uncharted.

ZING, but true.

At the same time, just like Mario.

AI is meant to be fodder. Think DOTA or LOL.

If Titanfall is as good as what we hear from press and players I fully expect MS to make a play for Respawn as a first party studio.
