Forums - Sony - I was wrong about PS+

My PS+ subscription is good until December 2015 so I'm happy with it and I think it's a good deal. I just wish it was setup more like Netflix. For example there are hundreds of older PS3 games out there so why instead of having 16 games or whatever it is a month they couldn't have 100-120 older games with maybe 10-20 newer games.

That way you wouldn't feel like you're being punished for coming to it late or screwed over if you miss adding a game to your download queue before it expires since there're so few added each month, You'd also get a much better chance of playing all the games in a series for example instead of just getting the 3rd title, etc.

PS+ is the SHIT for PS3. For PS4? Lack of BC means for the foreseeable future, you're getting mostly indie games and not of the Minecraft/Meatboy variety. Personally, I hate it because I don't own a PS3 and having to watch the PS3 owners get all these awesome games I'm left feeling completely screwed over.

My only issue with PS+ is now it's required to play online, which is, pure...bullshit. I refuse to do it. I paid for XBL last gen, and I kept telling myself "I'm going with Sony next gen. I'm not paying for something that should be free anymore". But then when Sony said they were doing it too, I was like, what options do I have? So I went with Sony anyway. Now, I'm at the point here in a week or so when the free PS+ ends and I'm just not going to pay for it.

If your Plus Subscription is about to run out, I suggest you go into your console and find the setting and cancel it now.  You'll still get the full month but if you don't, they'll automatically charge you $17 or $18 and renew you whether you want it or not.  Just get it again when the good games roll out.

Thanks for the headsup :)

I had PS+ for about a month. I don't think I did anything with it except download the free avatars and themes. Cancelled it on the 7th. I could see why people love it, though. Me, I have so much stuff that I need to play that I couldn't spend one minute on the stuff they offered. I buy too many games.

I used to buy a lot of games and had GameFly as well. Once I got a full-time job, my time became limited, so I had to cut down on the video-game spending and cancelled my GameFly. In the past few months, I noticed PS+ would offer some games I was interested in for free (Dragon's Dogma, Binary Domain, BioShock, DMC, etc). If this flow continues, I will only purchase games from my favorite series and rely on PS+ and maybe Black Friday for the rest. Will save me a bunch of money for sure.

PS. Why did this thread get some many views?

If I was a child I would have loved it. As a child I loved every game people gave me, did not matter it was a sport game like Cricket or baseball that I never played in my life still I would enjoy it and play it because it is a video game. Today you can give me 10 free games and it is possible I will not play more than 2 of them...After all those years their are maybe 2 PS plus game I enjoyed playing and 1 gold game.

Sales are more important for me.

Got my PS+ when I bought my PS4. I saw Gravity Rush and Uncharted for free for the Vita, I went out and buy the Vita. Then I realize they had Uncharted 3 for free for the PS3. Now they have the new Devil May Cry and Biochock Infinite for free.
So I have PS3, PS4, PS Vita and PS+. The best deal out of those 4 is the PS+ for me.

I got ps+ thanks to needing it for ps4 but never really looked at the deals. I got ToX on Black friday for $20...wish I had checked plus. I always thought the instant game collection were just sucky games but holy crap, Uncharted 3 is free? lol

When i signed, i thought i would play a lot cos i would have lot of games.
But with the time, i realized that the games that was being released are not the same game i wanted to play.
Eventually i want to play one game or other. But generally the games i want to play are not the same games i win in PSN+.
The disconts worth more to me. They are good.

It was good for awhile. But there were also really bad months for me personally. It is worth if you can at least get 2 very enjoyable games. I enjoyed Sleeping Dogs and Infamous 2 immensely and everything else was the cherry on top. Last 6 months of 2013 were not very good for me personally, and now it is better with January.

Edit: I use US PS plus.

there has been loads of full titles to download & play,it is useful if you are pretty much digital too being in the middle of nowhere with no stores about,i used to buy old games on the cheap but they will come to plus sooner or later most likely

i wonder what the first full title on the PS4 will be they give us,Knack or NFS and how long will they wait do you think

I just got it today and bought Tales of Xillia right. I will be downloading Bioshock tomorrow, and playing don't starve on the PS4 while that happens, then replaying DmC a few times after beating Bioshock. I will also be buying Far Cry: BD soon too. I am really excited :D

I love PS+.

I got it at some months and already had to upgrade both my PS3 HDD and my Vita memory card... I'm still downloading Bioshock Infinite, but I'm enjoying DmC. Probably the best I got until now was Soul Sacrifice and Dragon's Dogma DA.
