Forums - Sales Discussion - Uncharted is now a bigger IP Than Zelda

Like many Nintendo fans have already said, 30 years from now, they will still be talking about how great Zelda is while we move on to other IP

It was actually as simple of a point there is. Neither Twilight Princess nor Skyward Sword are innovative. What's the hard part? lol

I could push my reasoning but your attitude doesn't invite further discussion. Call me when you're sober.

You don't think Skyward Sword was innovative?

:/ No...I would go as far as saying that it's the least innovative console Zelda game. Unless you really liked the motion controls but I wasn't a fan of them myself.

That being said I guess in comparison it's still more innovative than a game like Uncharted 3 for example but not innovative in general.

Zelda has had more of a cultural impact then I expect Uncharted to ever have. Link is an iconic character, and has been successful for decades.

The Uncharted games are amazing, but the game mechanics have been done elsewhere and Tomb Raider (especially after the reboot) is remarkably similar in story and tone. It used to be Playstation fans couldn't stop talking about Uncharted and since The Last of Us came out it, people seem to be more excited about that franchise now.

When Uncharted was teased for the PS4, it never had the same impact that Halo did for Microsoft or a new Zelda would have for Nintendo.

Top 5 Most Anticipated Games:

- Quantum Break
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Destiny
- The Division
- Final Fantasy XV

More people know Link than Nathan Drake, so Zelda wins.

This reminds me of like Cena/Punk/Orton compared to Rock/Austin/Undertaker.

Seriously guys, why no one brings this up?

Because it wouldn't fit the agenda of some Sony fanboys.

Both are great, zelda has more wear on it and less new things to show, uncharted is always an adventure.

I'm sorry, but I can no longer hold my tongue. What new things have Uncharted done? I've just recently started playing them (I'm about 90% done with UC2 and have played UC1 all the way through), and I can't really see what the series as a whole does that hasn't been done before. Is it the cinematic cutscenes? Is it that Nathan is quite charming and witty in these cutscenes? Just please, somebody tell me! This is an honest question.

This can easily be explained as an opinion. I know its weird.

Or you know, you can create more games of a certain franchise while creating NEW franchises? Impressive right?

This is like trying to say Lady Gaga is bigger than Madonna. One is more current, popular, and actually quite good but the other is legendary and iconic.

But the question is this, which would you rather play with given the opportunity?
