Oh irony, cherry picking games from a  system thats 1.5 months old, What great new IP's have nintendo gamers been playing the last decade?  Sony always invests in new and unique IP's, you should try it sometime.

I agree, Sony has been trying to create many new IP's and taking risks to create new experiences. People are buying PS4 even though there are not many games because of the reason of promise from Sony in providing new IP's and experiences from Games and they trust. But, Nintendo always playing safe with their IP's as the source to gain advantage to sell more software and hardare to earn profits with cheap and outdated hardare and also creating problems to game developers to struggle to optimize the game for the less powerful hardware rather spending more time on making games with more content. Nintendo never really wanted to innovate gaming with technology and ease the development for devlopers/3rd party instead they wanted to innovate their old games and earn more profits mostly from their IP's.

Yes, because everyone loved what Sony did with Crash and Ratchet after a few years of managements, in favor of these "new IPs" that for the matter nobody cares about and barely sell anything. At least that means more "free" games on PS Plus for us.

And "Nintendo never really wanted to innovate gaming with technology and ease the development for devlopers/3rd party"?   Last I checked it was the PS3 that turned game development into a living hell.

Sony tried to provide powerful system with PS3 which is suitable for Gaming but failed to see the developments the PC got which made big changes in Gaming development for the developers due to nvidia and AMD hardware. However, sony helped a lot with 3rd party to get their game engines working and other support in developing for PS3, So PS3 did sell better than Xbox360 which was easy to devlop for and had a one year head start. Now, they have listened to developers and provided what developers wanted in PS4 instead of thinking about themselves, but Nintendo did not change.

In what exactly hasn't changed? All three manufactures have the exact same policies regarding developers, publishers and especially indies, so I don't get what you're getting at.

This is totally false, sony's indie stance alone is a good example, totally open that caused MS to change and indies to leave MS for sony....period. Sony learned from mistakes, Nintendon't.

Enjoy your financial successes while we enjoy games (for gamers which matters). Like it will make the companies suddenly come with more exclusives, or radical price drops or something that matters to a gamer.

This. And honestly, it should be /thread from here, but the Nintendo fans need something to cheer about lately. I saw some dude trying to spin this obvious pyrrhic victory into something more by saying it gives them "buyer's confidence." What a joke. As a gamer, financials mean nothing to me. And they (Nintendo fans) should really feel cheated knowing how much money Ninty has in the bank and yet they are getting no games to show for it. Not to mention the weakest console to compete with PS4/XB1. And yes, Sony has other divisions, which ultimately means they employ more people, correct? So, why then cheer for the demise of Sony and selling off buildings? The funny thing about this is by bringing these facts up, I, as a gamer am not affected, but the people who could potentially lose their jobs are. Good job, guys; not only do these points prove your desperation, you're also starting to look like callous sociopaths. Cool.

If we're going to bring up selling things, why not bring up the stuff that matters to gaming? Remember when Nintendo sold Rare off to Microsoft? While I don't know their financials at the time (why should I -_-;) I'd wager anything they weren't doing too well around that time. If Nintendo's only means of staying profitable is to conserve as much as possible by making less games, making cheap, outdated hardware, then brag all you want. Ever wonder what will happen when another Wii fad outbreak doesn't happen? Surely they can't stay profitable at this rate with the handheld market continuing to shrink and more Wii-U disasters. Fact is, these charts show that Nintendo is only slightly ahead of Sony, anyway. In the end, Playstation isn't going anywhere, fellas -- and considering the imminent success of PS4, there's no way you're going to spin this into some kind of doomed thread.

I think your wager didn't pay of. Nintendo haven't lost money since they entered the stock market, with exception of now recently. Next time do your research. You don't seem to be aware of it, but Nintendo never owned Rare. They held 49% stake in the company. MS bought the other 51%, rendering Nintendos percents "useless."  That's why they sold, nothing else.

Also, concider yourself reported. Callous sociopaths were uncalled for.

We are not going to play PS4 games in Playstation now, just PS1-PS3 and its meant a way to allow people to play their classics in any device in future without need of the hardware because the old hardware is discontinued after 10 years so we don't have PS1/PS2 now and also its meant for people who want to play their games anywhere without taking the hardware with them. This is future proof strategy and after 10 years we are going to see this as a medium for our classics.

Isn't it better to make people buy a Vita and PS4 for that?

in the end it just adds more reason to own those consoles rather than not having them as a reason.

less reason to own something means less hardware sales. sure you can't get PS4 games yet but who knows if you might be able to get those games in two years time?

this strategy actually makes me believe that there won't be a PS5 since they can easily stream everything. this is probably just a test to see how well it works and if it goes well which I think it will then they will stop production of the PS line and go software only

This service has not started yet and they just confirmed only to US for now with only PS3(first party mostly) to be streamed to PS4/Vita this year and also they want this only for Classics in future to provide a way to users to play them without hardware as a forever way to enjoy their games. Still they have a long way to go to add the support of PS1,PS2 and later to bring service to Europe and other regitons then Tablets/PC devices support. And they will never gonna stream PS4 games as they are not stupid to do that and hurt their currently selling hardware. Also consumers are smart as we know that Streaming is not going to provide what a real hardware does with our current Internet technology everywhere(due to latency, speeds, bandwidth caps, not affordable in many countries etc.,). Please do some research before you commnet as ive explained it cleary but stil you think that Sony is stupid with this Playstaion now service as they trying to cash in and gonna lose hardware sales due to this. Sony always tried to provide more value with their hardware, service, games etc., to consumers and never attempted to for quick cash in like others who does.

Well, they will stop Playstation hardware only if the people don't want want new hardware and we have very good internet connectivity at affordable rates globally. They cant force us to subscribe to this service by stopping the hardware and consumers will not support just like what happened with Xbox one always online. I'm sure that Sony always listens to gamers and developers, so its up to us to decide about the hardware to be stopped.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

Nevertheless, you can still say that Sony never really wanted to innovate gaming with technology and ease the development for devlopers/3rd party  until the PS4 came along.

In what exactly hasn't changed? All three manufactures have the exact same policies regarding developers, publishers and especially indies, so I don't get what you're getting at.

Did you see PS4 launch event and what they explained in the video about developers feedback in the new hardware? They provided easy to develop hardware with PS4 which is powerful GPU and has large unified system memory. Also they have given importance to indie in their E3 and we heard so many developers saying good things and launched many games so far in Vita/PS3 and now in PS4. They have very good 3rd party relationship from the beginning of PS1 but Nintendo contradicts in every thing mostly except little indie support.

Also sony always pushing technology in their every new hardware for gaming to have powerful hardware, they faild only one time with PS3 due to the architecture but they provided support to them which is why PS3 sold better than Xbox 360( which was easy to develop for and had a one year head start).

What new Ip's has mnintendo done???? Many of sonys exclusive ip's sell well. Uncharted new ip. Infamous new IP, Heavy rain new IP, Last of us., little big planet (A tonne of awards there already) So much for the same result...  Any healthy system has strong developer support, unlike Nintendo. Oh, please. The only new IP listed there that was created inside Sony was Uncharted and Last of Us with Naughty Dog.

Infamous was made by Sucker Punch (third-party and later acquired);

Heavy Rain was made by Quantum Dream (second-party, not owned by Sony);

Little Big Planet was made by Media Molecule (third-party and later acquired).

Remind me of how many IPs they destroyed and how many studios they closed in the proccess, in this so called "healthy system".

If your gonna briong up evbery indie and small time game I can list hindreds of PS3 games alone please. most of those are terrible.

You're right about Jack, destroyed isn't the right word, it was abandoned. And Ratchet is doing fine only in the number of games but since All4One it lacks the quality of its predecessors (this ccoming from a huge Ratchet fan). And Crash, just forget about it, I used to love the guy.

Developer incompetence was an issue, but it was nothing that Sony couldn't fix imo. I mean, WipeOut was good at the very least.

Oh, and those aren't every new indie or small time game on those platforms. They were all financed and published or developed by Nintendo.
