/ enjoy COD ghosts, fifa 14 and how ps4 is selling more than wii u, that's what the majority of sony fans are doing right now

Oh irony, cherry picking games from a system thats 1.5 months old, What great new IP's have nintendo gamers been playing the last decade? Sony always invests in new and unique IP's, you should try it sometime.
|
I agree, Sony has been trying to create many new IP's and taking risks to create new experiences. People are buying PS4 even though there are not many games because of the reason of promise from Sony in providing new IP's and experiences from Games and they trust. But, Nintendo always playing safe with their IP's as the source to gain advantage to sell more software and hardare to earn profits with cheap and outdated hardare and also creating problems to game developers to struggle to optimize the game for the less powerful hardware rather spending more time on making games with more content. Nintendo never really wanted to innovate gaming with technology and ease the development for devlopers/3rd party instead they wanted to innovate their old games and earn more profits mostly from their IP's.

Yes, because everyone loved what Sony did with Crash and Ratchet after a few years of managements, in favor of these "new IPs" that for the matter nobody cares about and barely sell anything. At least that means more "free" games on PS Plus for us.
And "Nintendo never really wanted to innovate gaming with technology and ease the development for devlopers/3rd party"? Last I checked it was the PS3 that turned game development into a living hell.

Sony tried to provide powerful system with PS3 which is suitable for Gaming but failed to see the developments the PC got which made big changes in Gaming development for the developers due to nvidia and AMD hardware. However, sony helped a lot with 3rd party to get their game engines working and other support in developing for PS3, So PS3 did sell better than Xbox360 which was easy to devlop for and had a one year head start. Now, they have listened to developers and provided what developers wanted in PS4 instead of thinking about themselves, but Nintendo did not change.
|
Nevertheless, you can still say that Sony never really wanted to innovate gaming with technology and ease the development for devlopers/3rd party until the PS4 came along.
In what exactly hasn't changed? All three manufactures have the exact same policies regarding developers, publishers and especially indies, so I don't get what you're getting at.

Did you see PS4 launch event and what they explained in the video about developers feedback in the new hardware? They provided easy to develop hardware with PS4 which is powerful GPU and has large unified system memory. Also they have given importance to indie in their E3 and we heard so many developers saying good things and launched many games so far in Vita/PS3 and now in PS4. They have very good 3rd party relationship from the beginning of PS1 but Nintendo contradicts in every thing mostly except little indie support.
Also sony always pushing technology in their every new hardware for gaming to have powerful hardware, they faild only one time with PS3 due to the architecture but they provided support to them which is why PS3 sold better than Xbox 360( which was easy to develop for and had a one year head start).
GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,
its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).
So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.
PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.
Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.
Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.
