Forums - Gaming - Nintendo is worth more than Sony. Microsoft kicks both companies

Releasing the same controller for the forth time, which is already based in the SNES one, is surely innovative.

Be serious.  A lot of the Playstation controller is derived from the N64.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

LOL the Nintendo fans in this thread are hilarious. Every single one of them is talking so much crap. PlayStation isn't going anywhere guys, you gotta deal with it.

No more hilarious than the Sony fans that constantly claim Nintendo is doomed.  Right?

Finally someone with good reason.

Yes, Sony has seen better times, but the PlayStation brand is still as strong as ever. And believe me, no one wants to see it go under. It would be without precedent for the entire industry.

Atari and Sega already set that precedent.

Jut sell another building Sony

it's ok Sony fans don't worry, hopefully PS4 will save Sony and they won't have to go third party

The funny part is that if PlayStation Now extends to non-Sony devices, Sony can be considered a third-party.

Lol. That would actually be true :).

Sorry to say, but when your company is selling major buildings that is never a good thing.

Well, let's see:

I have this expensive (to maintain) building A and I sell it for a lot of $$$.

I build a smaller, less expensive building B that does the job for $$ (<< $$$) (and which is much less expensive to maintain than A).

Seems like a good idea to me..

Of course from a pr perspective it is not cool to move into the suburbs, from a monetary standpoint it's ok (I think at this time Sony back-rented parts of building A, but I'm sure somebody made the right calculations).

Man, no need to get so defensive guys. Sony isn't doing too well as a company right now.

At Sony's peak how much were they worth?

Not sure about the exact amount, but it was higher than 100 billion.

I agree with what you say about Sony. My only point was that if Sony and Nintendos gaming divisions both collapsed, it wouldnt make a drastic change to Sonys already dire situation but it would soon have a big effect on Nintendos

It would be one thing to do it once but both continental HQ buildings in the same fiscal year goes far beyond prudent financial restructuring.

Besides, any company that knows what they are doing in real estate makes good money leasing out space.

Sears used to make lot of money from their tower in Chicago.  They ran into financial trouble and sold it back in the 90's...just like Sony recently did.
