Titanfall is now Xbox Live Cloud only. They are no longer re engineering the PC version to downgrade the Cloud stuff. PC version has been allowed to use the same Xbox One cloud service and is FULLY Xbox Live. and Windows 8 only.

Its fair enough that you dont want to use Xbox Live, but I fully expect MS in the next few years maybe around 2015/16 to bring Xbox as a full service across devices. And it to compete right against Steam but with a HUGE advantage over Steam with 50 + exclusives like Killer Instinct and Halo 5. Sony are already changing to a service, MS will to but with Windows 8 as its back bone.

If that's the case... Should be interesting to see how much Titanfall flops on the PC. (I would be more than happy to be proven wrong however.)
Windows 8 is yet to command a decent amount of marketshare and PC gamers generally don't care for minor things like Xbox integration, GFWL was the proof of that. - It's already got all that working against it.

Now 50+ exclusives is a nice number, but they're still going up against Steam which has over 3,000 games with more being added daily.
It's like comparing the games library of the Virtual Boy against the Playstation 2 it's a laughable difference to say the least.

Then you have price, we PC gamers are cheapskates... we really are. - If they start demanding $100-$120 AUD a game like they do on console, they won't gain much traction.

Edit: It's not Windows 8 exclusive it seems, so this is really all moot.
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/10/30/titanfall-pc-release-same-as-xbox-no-windows-8/

Hmmmm. Interesting. That means Microsoft are opening Xbox Live up to Windows 7. As Titanfall can only be played with Xbox Live. As it is now built entirely around Xbox Live Cloud. PC and 360 as well as The One.

Good move for Microsoft.

Its happening...... I told you. Xbox Live service will be evrywhere soon. But as a fully fledged service.

Uh oh, interesting, but it doesn't show much :/

First party Studio though. And alot of good people at Black Tusk. Should ( SHOULD ) be a good title.

You're about as successful at communicating your ideas as MS was with their DRM share plans.

So you want tv manufacturers to build Kinect into their tvs and connect to a new XBox service that streams? the same games you can play on an XBox One. Basically cross-buy combined with Gaika, with everything you need build into the tv.

Or just an XBox one without a disc drive, and cross-buy with everything available as a pc game as well?

Anyway why would tv manufacturers limit their market by integrating an expensive piece of hardware into their tvs that only works with 1 service and/or console? It seems they're doing fine on their own making smart tvs. What is the incentive for the manufacturer to give MS a cut, and for the consumer to pay more for the tv?
Sony tried something sort of similar with their ps 3d tv, the only good thing about that was that you could pick them up dirt cheap just months later.

That one service has a shed load of apps available and would save the TV manufacturer having to build any software to get apps on Smart TV. Xbox One software already contains Windows 8 and would allow any RT apps right there on the TV out of the box. And they wouldnt stream the games, the TV would contain the chipset the Xbox One has. Albeit revised at lower power consumption and heat. Minus the disc tray. PC would just require the service open to it. And TVs would finally actually have decent camera tech for motion and speech. Instead of the terrible options TV's have in comparison to Kinect.

Ah, don't think that's going to happen. Way too expensive for the average consumer. You basically want a slightly less powerful xbox one built into tvs running windows 8. That is of no interest to tv manufacturers. They have a cheap board in there to run simple apps they have control over. Their main concern is keeping the price of the tv low, Licensing win 8, sticking half a pc in there and expensive Kinect tech will drive the price up several hundred dollars at least. TV manufacturers are also not in the business of selling at no profit or even at a slight loss.
MS can ofcourse try to launch their own XBox TV.

XBox live on PC will not draw extra pc gamers. They're not interested paying for a closed eco system when they can get more apps and functionality for free, and more games with mods for less. Publishers also rather avoid the closed ecosystem fee MS charges them.
And on the other side, is it really a good idea for MS to let their players experience the same games on PC, making the step to spend the rest of their time on Steam sales even easier. Instead of browsing the XBox games store after playing a 1st party title, a simple alt-tab will open up a whole world of much cheaper games.

Cloud will be very important to games on PC as well. Titanfall has to use Xbox Live on PC as it is NOW not having to be changed and have missing stuff as originally was the case back in June. Its now Xbox Live only on PC and is taking full advantage of the Cloud. Steam doesnt have Cloud, and if Titanfall shows itself to be a game changer with Cloud then Xbox Live could have many titles not possible on Steam. Even 3rd parties like Respawn not just first parties.

Xbox Live has sales to. I got Peggle 1 on 360 for example for £1. Or publishers and devs have always got sales on. Same as Steam. I got Dead Rising 2 years ago for £3.99 on 360 Xbxo Live 75% off.

I see your point about TV's, but we never know. Xbox One without Disc tray and as a result being cheaper is definately an option though. And I do fully believe Xbox will be a service across devices. Especially PC as I stated.

You already replied to that message, you haven't replied to my other one about game counts.

However, I don't know why you keep bringing up the cloud and Xbox Live...
Titanfall isn't using Xbox Live on the PC, at all, it's using Origin.

Now the problem I see is you are putting Microsofts "Azure" in conjunction with "Xbox Live" and then thinking Xbox Live is somehow on the PC, that couldn't be farther from the truth, Azure is platform agnostic, you could run it on a Sega Dreamcast, it's not a service for the Xbox it's a service for the Xbox, PC, Windows Phone, basically *all* of Microsoft's products can use it. (Even stuff not owned by Microsoft, for example Sony could rent some rack space.)

Xbox Live is a platform, like Steam, Microsoft tried that and fell on it's face, it was called Games for Windows Live! And every sane PC gamer disliked it, I doubt they will relaunch it after they decided to shut down everything.

In the end though, the PC is so stupidly powerfull that cloud based computing isn't even required it's probably a couple of generations ahead of the Xbox One and Playstation 4 in terms of CPU performance thus it's just DRM in the end.

Do you even know what the "Cloud" is?

It's a collection of servers that handles processing tasks that is typically done on a host machine which is then streamed to the client.

If anything, Steam is actually superior to that of Xbox Live, the Steam network isn't controlled by any single entity.
Internet providers all around the world set-up Steam servers near their content delivery networks, which is an optimal approach as those servers will usually be in area's where the internet provider has high concentrations of customers.

Now the kicker to this is you get far lower latencies and higher bandwidth the internet provider gets to save lots of money as grabbing content right off their own networks is far cheaper than grabbing data of Akami which is what Microsoft uses to distribute data.

You can have as many servers in the world, but it ain't going to help if they're half a planet/continent away, games are actually fairly latency sensitive.

Now as for server based processing any company can set that up and make deals with internet providers to provide such capability, but it's a pretty pointless affair on the PC.

Did you read my post? My goodness.
Seriously, read it, in it's entirety and attempt to understand it.

I know what cloud is. Respawn have said loads of times that no other company can provide for Cloud processing Worldwide except Microsoft. That is a fact.

"With the Xbox Live Cloud, we don’t have to worry about estimating how many servers we’ll need on launch day. We don’t have to find ISPs all over the globe and rent servers from each one. We don’t have to maintain the servers or copy new builds to every server. That lets us focus on things that make our game more fun. And best yet, Microsoft has datacenters all over the world, so everyone playing our game should have a consistent, low latency connection to their local datacenter.

Most importantly to us, Microsoft priced it so that it’s far more affordable than other hosting options – their goal here is to get more awesome games, not to nickel-and-dime developers. So because of this, dedicated servers are much more of a realistic option for developers who don’t want to make compromises on their player experience, and it opens up a lot more things that we can do in an online game."

"This is a really big deal, and it can make online games better. This is something that we are really excited about. The Xbox Live Cloud lets us to do things in Titanfall that no player-hosted multiplayer game can do. That has allowed us to push the boundaries in online multiplayer and that’s awesome"

"The Xbox group came back to us with a way for us to run all of these Titanfall dedicated servers and that lets us push games with more server CPU and higher bandwidth, which lets us have a bigger world, more physics, lots of AI, and potentially a lot more than that!"

I like used games as well. Almost everything is wrong about what Microsoft wanted with DRM for console gamers. If you like that stuff I suggest you upgrade to PC.

It probably is a fact that they stated that, but you're also wrong as other companies have provided cloud processing to a world-wide audience before the Xbox One even launched.

But don't let the facts get in the way...

At this point, I'll take very little of what you say as "truth" after being caught out picking out fake numbers.
