That might explain why there are still shortages all around in US and EU.

Sony blew all its supply last for hollydays and small territories. May be that is smart, can´t see demand high for the first semester.

But we will only know in the next quartely report in May.

Ehh, I recall you saying recently that PS4 is probably overtracked, cause shipments to Europe are anecdotally reported to be low, and you can't see it doing numbers in line with VGC. Seems you were wrong. In my opinion will be wrong again with the bolded part. So my question is, when will you stop?

Yes, I think it is overtracked WW or Sony might also overtraking its sales in small territories.

It might surprise you but companies treck their sales very similiar as VGChartz does. They only know how much they produce and ship.

I said VGChartz numbers might be low for UK, EU and US (NPD may be a surprise, even with shortages). For months everthing pointed to 5mi units until March. We saw the Sony strategy in going to a big splash in pre-orders, followed by slow weeks.

I don´t think demand will be strong in the first quarter and semester, for any console, the hardcore market has already been saturated. That´s is why I think Sony strategy was to win a lot of  global sales (again, they might not be sure if they sold all their supply in India, S. Africa or S. America...) and waite until next semester with new games.

Again, only financial reports will show.

PS: I will stop when ethomaz stops, we brazilians never give it up.

PS2: It dosen´t matter being wrong as long you are consistence in your analisys - Nate Silver.

Didn't know you are Brazilian, that explains it, you passionate beasts!

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Yesterday you were talking about 4,5 to 5mi... I figure you would be disapointed (as you would be for PS3 not seling nothing close to 90mi by the end of last year).

No, not a chance with the lack of supply last month in the US. And the issue continues.

Again, only quartely reports will tell the truth, and only in the next after the next we will know.

PS4: 4.2 x 400 = 1,68bi

XO: 3.0x 500 = 1.5bi

With all the extra countries, the 50% power advantage, the price, and etc... financialy Sony pocket only 12% more.

Yesterday? Quote me please... serious request because I didn't remember to talk about PS4 sales yesterday.

Add the software sales to your maths.

Yeap... DOMITATION... that is the name of what PS4 is doing even with massive supply issues.

And what about PS4 OVERTRACKED? Do you remember? I told you.

Once again, I always complained about "rest of the world" being overtracked. And I still think it might be. I always expected a 3 to 2  WW ratio sales for this hollydays. You were the one talking about 3 to 1 or 5 to 1.

As I said for the last months, PS4 had alread won the harth and minds of hardcore gamers, the early adopters, people that preorder and are likely to buy Killzone for the taste of it. Pre-orders and launch days proved it.

For the casual market? Hunn, I can´t see the Wii effect to apply. The main stream media is not talking about consoles. People bought 3x or 4x more iPads, tablets last year than all consoles combined.

I belive, in fact a WiiU effect for the PS4 and XOne, sales will fell hard this this January and February.

Would you be surprise if Sony realy met the 5mi mark by March? I wouldn´t.

The sales being what they are. Geographical availability, cheaper, positive PR and all.....

I get it that fans are happy with the news. But I just raise an eyebrow at some posts here thats all.

Care to post links to posts/predictions that had the PS4 above 4 Million before 2013 was over?

The vast majority here expected nowhere near 4.2 Million - http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=170849&page=1#

To back up your post a little more, some suggestions from yesterday:

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=5943759 "3.Xm"

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=5943771 "3.5-4m"

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=5944155 "4m"

A couple of people were more on the money though, but it's still pushing the upper end of predictions:

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=5943943 "3.8-4.2m"

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=5943781 "close/above 4m"

Man, too bad Xbox One only sold in 13 countries. MS would have reached 5 million by now easily!

Wow.. Is this guy for real?

It's estimated by SCEI, but when you have essentially 100% sell through the number crunching is really easy for them.

Yes, 4mi shipped for hollydays and expect a 3mi sales was realistic for a July/August supply chain and plants configuration, then more 2mi until March.

The question is: Has Sony incrised its forecast? If yes, when did they contact the suppliers?

There are still a drought in the USA and EU still no resupply in Brazil or South America.

However, my point is: Is the market realy interested in more than 10mi  next gen consoles before this March?

XOne has overtook my prediction by 500k and PS4 by 1mi. Will this trend continues?

I don´t think so. Not this first semester, even with Titanfall and Infamous, there are realy few advantages for a avarage guy to by a next gen console this early.

well done, Sony!

And well done VGC for both Xbox One and PS4!

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

There are always forecast revision before the March results... Sony will revive to over 5 million now that they will reach that in January already.

great sales!!!!! I hope this continues.
