So what your saying is in todays society, Across over 80 million WP8 devices, 750 million Windows 8 copies and 83 million Xboxs only 48 million Xbox Live accounts exist? To get any phone games on WP8 or 7 yu have to create an Xbox Live account.

All I know is that the numbers they report don't represent active Gold members.

"It also claims in excess of 40 million Xbox Live users, although it doesn't break down how many of these are free Silver users and paying Gold subscribers."

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/389080/xbox-360-life-to-date-sales-hit-759-million/

So lets get this straight. A few gaming journos, and yourself cant work out that PSP + PS Vita + PS3 + PS4 = over 100 million accounts.

Yet you think WP7 + 8, Windows 8, 360 and Xbox One = 48 million?

Considering Xbox Live is available on around 700 million more devices than PSN.

Seriously people need to take the Xbox.com for face value. Instead of beating around the bush.

Sony claimed when PS3 was at 22.3 million that they had 25 million PSN accounts. And Xbox Live had 22 million active accounts at 32 million 360's sold.

But in the same E3 Microsofts hours spent online was more than 22x Sony's. This shows again Microsofts numbers are Gold active users.

I usually don't agree with you, but in this subject anyone defending Gabe or saying Live isn't I don't know 40M+ gold users is dumb...

Why don't Gabe comment on Xbox or PS having lets say 40/50M gold on 80M X360 (don't know silver, but I won't use other devices here) and 100M on 160M PS3/Vita (and probably something like 10M PSN+ right now, probably less) meaning 50/60% attach rate on MS plats, 62% on Sony... now Lets see steam, 65M on 1Billion devices 6,5% attach ratio. That is noteworthy.

ROFL. I hope Steam box bankrupts them. Their titles are overated and they are an extremely slow developer.

65 mill Steam accounts?

How about 80 mill 360's you absolute douche. And the fact that PC Steam runs pretty well on Windows.

Gabe Newell Trying to punch way above his weight. ROFL.

I don't wish that, but wouldn't it be funny if Microsoft buys out what is left of Steam?  (They do, after all, have a very high number of Windows 8 users.)

Have you seen the prices for the SteamBoxes?  They start at Xbox One levels, and the top of the line, you could buy yourself and your FIVE closes friends an Xbox One and a PS4 and have some money left over for two games for everybody!

With Gabe's rants and rages, and his lack of keep talent, it seems Steam is going to dispurse like a cloud of water vapor.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Cloud and vaporware seems so close in some cases.
