He should've compared it to the 80 million + Xbox 360's sold or the 50 million paying Xbox live subscribers. Or compare it to another free videogame membership like Playstation Network that has over 110 million accounts. He is a douche. And notice he said "we're at 65 million" - comparing free Steam accounts to console sales. I'm willing to bet half of those 65 million accounts are inactive. If it was anyone else - he'd be clowned.

Not exactly. Microsoft owns tons of Gold Mines from where they can extract revenue and profits. Xbox Division is just one of them.

Actually typo. I meant 45 million. Its now 48 million. Will likely be over 50 mill active by summer. I know Sony say PSN accounts is over 100 million. But they include inactive. Their total is just acconts made. Microsoft only include accounts used and accessed in the last month. Or is it 3 months?

No it doesnt. I dont know how many times Microsoft have to say Gold members. Microsoft have always announced Live active Gold Members at every E3. Its paying users. Otherwise it would be around 100 million? Windows Phone users have Xbox Live silver and so does Windows 8 RT and normal.

EDIT: And now every Xbox One sold will have at least 1 Silver account. So your saying since last E3 MS made only 3 mill users? 3 mill sold Xbox One. So not one single new user on 360/WP8 or Windows 8 PC?

i cant see how its fucking dumb when he is simply stating fucking facts. with a new gen, microsoft has to start over in building their user base, steam/valve do not, seems like a fucking legit reasoning right fucking their.

So does it count that Microsoft have Xbox Live available to every type of Windows 8 and WP8?

48 million is only Paying Gold Live members on Xbox 360 and One. If you include all of Xbox Live the real figure with phones and Windows 8 is probably well over 100 million. Titanfall is Xbox Live only on PC to. MS will do that to many more PC games soon.

and thats his point, he basically says they are at 3 million and they have catching up to do, meaning they have to see how those 48 million transition from xbox 360 to xbox one. He however, doesnt have to worry about such a transition, as he already has 65 on a platform (PC) which has no generations, unlike consoles. SteamBox will only help expand the userbase. you also have to remember he was ASKED the question, and he didnt just state this by himself.
