Well, if someone thinks that $799 is still too much, Dell has delivered on its promise and will launch one for $100 less

Crazy.

This will surely be a TN pannel at this price...which is fine for single monitor solutions due to limited viewing angles. But could look great regardless.

How long do you think a product like this, will be closer to $350-400?

True.

Now we only have to wait for the official specs, and to know the connections it'l have. DP 1.2 is a must, maybe even HDMI 2.0? For that price I doubt it.

I don't see why it wouldn't have it. The Vizio 4K TVs that are coming out and starting at 999 for 50 inch models have HDMI 2.0

50" is a bit unpractical as a monitor, too large.
50" is a bit small for a 4K living room tv, I'm enjoying 52" 1080p atm.

The 65" reference series sounds good for the living room. I wonder how much that will cost, and if you can get it without the sound bar and subwoofer, no need for sound from the tv. I haven't used tv speakers for my main viewing display since 1996 :)

Just price wise, I don't understand why people aren't looking at the 50 inch for $999. It's a much better deal than a 28 inch for $799....

As for me, I would want the 65 inch if I were to get one. However since the price is too steep, I'll just stick with my HDTV.

Excellent price. I'll wait though. I was looking for a bigger monitor actually around the 28-32 inch range. 1080 though!

Just think how much it will be in a year, even 2!!

Edit: Just saw the post above... $999 for 50" is a much better deal.

As a designer, I'd love to have this monitor.
