Forums - Microsoft - So, how have you been enjoying The Power of the Cloud ?

Haven't really checked on this since the E3 announcements.

It was said that, thanks to the upcoming infinite power of the cloud, for the xbox one, it would allow so much more innovative stuff. It would also make the console 50 times more powerfull than a regular xbox 360, or something. Games using it would never be possible in any other system. Someone couldn't wait for the truth to come out and all.

So, share your experience with the community in existing and upcoming games/features that make use of it, only possible on the xbone.

Yes, I did.

I brought Dead Rising 3 to a friend of mine and we played the game. I wanted to show him the story mode and when I logged in, the Xbox One used my saved games from the cloud and I was able to continue my way through the story on his Xbox One. This took about 10 seconds and the console did it automatically.

Sure, cloud savings are nothing spectacular new, but this was the first time I ever used it and it became quite handy.

Cloud gaming will really shine in the next 1-3 years. Nobody expected launch games to use this technology to the fullest.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Hahah :D loving the marketing BS that 'the cloud' is :P

Torn-City - MMO text based RPG, join me! :)

Well on the PS side of the cloud, instead of simply displaying the last time my friends logged in, I now get to sift through tons of status updates. The automatic display of your friends' ghost trails in GT6 is a nice cloud feature, oh wait that's not even the right gen...

Thanks to his power I'm wreaking havoc on Sephirot right now

Sshh! That the secret sauce right there! Along with the balanced design

Well not a lot of Cloud features are being fully utilized at the moment.

But same game changing cloud features Ive used so far are:

Forza 5 : Cloud based Drivatar AI. - This completely crushes previous driving AI in games like Forza 4 and GT6. In fact I had the chance to play GT6 the other day on boxing day at a friends house and the AI was absolutely pathetic in comparison to Forza 5. In fact it appeared non existant in comparison.

Operating System : Complete access to all my games and exact save points without linking my gamertag to another console. Wherever I go, Everything is accessable in 10 seconds or there abouts.

What Im looking forward to.

Unlike any other system, the ability to have every single game brought out use Cloud processing for things like Drivatar AI, Physics calculations, AI battles, Fixed lighting etc.

Titanfall is out in March and uses Microsofts Cloud processing to process AI battles happening on the otherside of the map nowhere near the player. Providing a much more immersive dynamic experience than using the CPU on the Xbox to Process 100's of AI battles.

Basically over the next 2-3 years, Microsoft has put in place for Xbox One that sells each has 3 Cloud Processing servers available to it. One of the reasons Ttitanfall went to Xbox One in the first place. Was the Cloud being far superior to PS4. Halo 5 is said to use the Cloud Processing as is Fable Legends among other games.

But yeah already we see early benefits that DO change the way a game plays and system operates.

Thats not cloud processing. Or remotely the same thing.

Not really. Cloud does support the Xbox One, but I wish it was Cid the one supporting it instead.

Lol I love people claming cloud features are a marketing myth... It's about as accurate than 15th century people insisting earth is flat and the globe is a myth... It's not because it's not used on XBox one yet or accessible to everybody just yet that the thing is not real.... I expect to have a 1Gbps connection with an under 10ms latency by the end of the decade minimum....
and the cloud is already really real today... Fact is almost all my CPU equipped devices rely on it one way or an other.... But yeah it's marketing BS... Mouarf
