I wonder how PlayStation 4 will perform, it does not have an impressive library of games aimed at eastern/japanese audience as the Wii U and the fact that it now needs subscription for online/multiplayer play is a fatal mistake. It was a big no for Japanese with Xbox and Xbox 360 and will be with Xbox One.

That's the impression I got from it too. Kinda like they're rubbing the fact the rest of world got it first in Japan's face.

Yeah, this seemed to be rubbing salt in the wound. "Look at all these cities that got the console before you!"

The biggest no for Japanese with Xbox and Xbox 360 was that they weren't made by a Japanese company.

Or it could be viewed as a "We saved the best for last" kinda thing too - like the other countries were the opening acts and Japan is the headliner. Depends on how they market that angle, though.

I'm pretty sure each Jap Ps4 comes with Knack for free as a "sorry" for coming there late. Still that trailer thing was pretty Hypetastic.

That's a pretty bad commercial/teaser. I kinda get why they decided to postpone launch in Japan though, there just isn't that much to be had there for home console any longer, I'll be really surprised if the PS4 manages to top 10 million there. Still, this video was silly and seems almost like a f*** you to the Japanese fans.

About the launch line-up; it wasn't exactly exemplary in the West either, at least in my opinion. But, at least there are actual games coming, some even in Q1 so the Japanese won't have to wait as long for new software at least.

I liked the trailer, made the console seem fun and exciting. Didn't really feel like they rubbing it in that they getting it last...average people won't care too much about launch dates etc. they will care about launch games though and it's not looking that good for the Japanese audience IMO.

I doubt it will be a problem. There are a lot of Japanese hooked on the PS+ program.
