Forums - Sony - PlayStation 4 : Japan 2.22 (1st Japanese PS4 CM)

That's a pretty bad commercial/teaser. I kinda get why they decided to postpone launch in Japan though, there just isn't that much to be had there for home console any longer, I'll be really surprised if the PS4 manages to top 10 million there. Still, this video was silly and seems almost like a f*** you to the Japanese fans.

About the launch line-up; it wasn't exactly exemplary in the West either, at least in my opinion. But, at least there are actual games coming, some even in Q1 so the Japanese won't have to wait as long for new software at least.

Agreed... What marketing people at Sony were using?!? I mean... They backstabbed Japanese fans by not releasing PlayStation 4 on the same date as everywhere else and now they twist that blade and put salt on it to make it even worse. I would't be surprised if someone in Japan just got uber mad/pissed after seeing this trailer, probably yelling: "Sony baka/Baka Sony!" or something...

@underlined I though the same when I saw the teaser, they show all the locations and people that got PlayStation 4 before them and showing that them(japanese fans) are not important to Sony. It seems Sony is somewhat having a revenge on their homeland for buying Wii's in droves as they did with DS and now with 3DS while ignoring PlayStation Vita. Maybe Sony is thinking that they completely lost the market in Japan and they are now focusing on Microsoft, bad move...

I look at Japanese launch lineup and its windows and hopefully it will satisfy them... Still, the thing that they gave a smack down to Japanese fans by delaying the console, not really much software that is appealing to majority of Japanese audience and with online and other features behind subscription that will put off some people... It seems Japanese will turn more towards Wii U and PC gaming when comes to stationary gaming machines.

One game that I want from the Japanese launch line-up is Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin!, although I'll settle for a western release of Yakuza 5 (unlikely, I know).

That commercial seems a bit too American for Japan.

Yeah that's what i thought, and Sony is like see japan, the whole world got it and yet you still have to wait to get it.

Or maybe it's like Japan is the badass final boss Sony is getting ready for.

Seems like Sony saved the best for last for Japan.

FF14, Warframe, Blacklight: Retribution, War Thunder, Resogun, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knack, Drive Club, and Infamous: Second Son will be available when the PS4 launches in Japan.

Infamous is coming in March.

Are they trying to rub it in their face?  Showing all the countries that got the PS4 before them despite Japan being their most loyal fanbase.

They should have shown some games (including parts of the trailers of FFXV and KHIII). I think that's a pretty bad ad for Japan, showing all those western cities that got the console before them...

one month away from launch. close enough.

guys, gals, you got to understand, at least Japanese don't have to wait a long time like the rest of us for most anticipated games.

not sure what everyone is getting their panties in a bunch over this. ...isn't not like japan didn't know for months now that they were getting ps4 in 2014 and the west was getting it sooner.

i thought it was pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure that title belongs to Europe.

This ad is pretty fucked up though lol
