The smash hit Minecraft may have just been released for the PlayStation 3, but according to the game's creator Markus "Notch" Persson, there aren't any plans for a Wii U release.

Speaking out on Twitter, Notch said, "I am not aware of any plans to release a Wii U version of Minecraft."

Earlier in 2013, Notch explained that Microsoft previously had an exclusivity deal forMinecraft on consoles, and once that was up, the team was going to consider bringing the game to PlayStation. Even back then he said Wii U is "very unlikely."

The reason the port isn't in the works isn't because Notch doesn't like Nintendo though. In a follow-up Tweet, he said, "I agree a Wii U version would make sense, [by the way]. The only reason for no current plans is we've got too much work already. I <3 Nintendo."

When he says Mojang, developer of Minecraft, has too much work already, he's probably referring to the effort going in to the upcoming PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions of the game.

Hahahahahaha.  Yeah because he would make MORE money by putting it on the Wii U instead of the PS4 or even VIta...   You do know games aren't made by the snapping of fingers right?

He said that mohjang just doesnt have enough resources to work on it atm. They are busy with PSV, PS4 and X1 versions. Doesnt mean its ruled out for the future.

Not that i care personally. Its not my kind of game.

Unless we're talking Nintendo-themed special edition of Minecraft I really couldn't care less about it. I'd rather have them put more resources into the PC version.

Once 4J finishes up the PS4/Vita/Xbone versions I'm sure they'll start working on a WiiU port. It's easy money because Minecraft will sell anywhere.

  It's understandable if they are busy with the other versions.

Nintendo consoles are made for kids according to you guys, right? kids love Minecraft, so i'm sure a WiiU version would outsell a Vita version because that handheld's fanbase is mostly made up of dedicated hardcore gamers.

Understandable, It's already available on so many platforms that not being on the Wii U isn't that big of a deal.
