Why won't they simply put an age to it.
Like you can only add people if you are 12 years old or older.
What? ... Little kids will lie about there age? ... Little kids will get brain damage because they gave a fauls age?

I wish they'd have an adequate game invite system. It doesn't even have to have a personalized message attached. Just something along the lines of "d21lewis invites you to play Super Street Fighter 4" and I'd be happy. It's like Nintendo has put as many barriers between players as possible.

You need to stop to be selfish. I know, 3DS is a product and you are the consumer, but its like have to use a password every time you go make a purchase. Or have to be checked on airport by metal detector. Its annoying and its not because of you that that is there, but you use it anyway, because you know not everyone is good intended.

I witnessed a predator trying to get a 13-years-old girl friend of mine. Guess what? He used private message from facebook. Their parents are not well centered by what i have heard, but the girl was the one harmed. She was the one that felled in love with him, while he just wanted to know if she was virgin or not. Nintendo is caring more than most of the parents. We should applaud then, even if cause us some little annoyances.

Not everyone is going to create a NNID. I don't use the eShop so I won't. Only 1 of my 3DS friends has a NNID and that's because he bought a Wii U and needed one to download Zelda WW.

Would you take away private messages form facebook then? Its ok to be cautious, but I think there is a limit in which compañies cannot hold your hand. It is not Nintendo responsibility if some of its services are used for stuff like that since in order to eliminate any possibility of it happening, then you would have the ban almost all functions that are based on user interaction

Because parents can easily control what games they buy for their little kids, they can't really control who their kids try to communicate with while they aren't around. I agree that it is a stupid system. But for nintendo, children are their main demographic and so they want to make their handheld as appealing as possible to the parents, the people who will be making the purchasing decisions for their children. And they probably have concrete statistics that show parents prefer the system currently in place. 

I'm fairly sure you can justify pretty much any removal of freedoms, restrictions etc. with that argument.

I could have added a lot more words to the list, hence the 'etc.' I put there. Equally well I could have said "making things harder or impossible" and the meaning wouldn't have changed. Anyway, my point is that your argument is so broad that you can use it to justify way too many things. I agree that children must be protected but at the same time, I think Nintendo is being lazy with their solution to the problem.
