Forums - Nintendo - Star Fox could become a big gun for Nintendo if done correctly

But as I said I am just making potential suggestions.  Personally, given everything about Star Fox, they are probably best just leaving the series alone and maybe doing a downloadable game that brings nostaligia to fans every now and then.  Although I suggest drastically changing it, I am not sure if they could execute it well enough or be willing to go far enough to pull it off.  Then we really would get something like Bomberman Act Zero haha.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. Either that or ham-fistedly trying to make it more deep and serious within established canon, like Other M. :/

I don't see anything horribly wrong with a play-it-safe downloadable title, If only to relearn how to make a Star Fox game and reacclimate mondern Nintendo audiences.

Haha very true.  I think the Star Fox fan in me constantly wages war against itself.  One part really wants to see the franchise taken to the next level while the other part dreads the day it happens.  And then a whole other side just wants the series to be left to memory haha.  Guess it is a good thing I am not making the decisions at Ninty haha.

Meh, personally if given the choice between a new tried and true Starfox game or a Rogue Squadron game, I'd take Rogue Squadron any day of the week for my space combat fix.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Yeah there are little to no truly great jet fighter games out there. That is probably why I liked Star Fox 64 so much. I mean yeah make it a heavy T Rating with some grit and I could see a great game...

Problem is that they aren't doing a damn thing with  Star Fox and it's a shame.... If a Star Fox game happens one day, I hope it is like Star Fox 64.

Personally, I think Star Fox Adventures gave a hint to what the Star Fox franchise could actually become.

To be clear, I'm not saying that Star Fox should become a standard Action Adventure type series. Rather, I'm saying that the concept behind Star Fox Adventures could be adapted, gameplay adjusted to better suit the classic Star Fox style, but not entirely so, to make for a game series that is a little more inviting and well-rounded.

The biggest part of it would be the element of them being enlisted mercenaries, tasked with defending and otherwise helping planets within the Lylat system, much in the same way that they helped the people of Sauria in SFA. A proper blending of SFA with classic Star Fox would make, in my opinion, for a great game.

What about something like Star Fox Assault with online play?

This should have been done back in 2009, outsourced to Treasure or PlatinumGames. Wii controls were perfect for a game like Star Fox.

A great campaign that can be done co operatively online with multiplayer death matches would be a winner! Get a team to produce it who really know how to use the Wii U architecture and this could be huge...

Then F-Zero please!!!!!!

If they do make another Starfox, then I hope it's like the SNES or N64 games. The fact that they recently remade 64 on 3DS sure gives some hope of this.

The topic is about the game becoming a big gun for Nintendo not another minor game to feed nintendo core only. Nintendo should be aiming to make the franchise sell 5million+. Outdate game mechanics on its own will not achieve this.
