I honestly don't get why there is a version of smash on 3DS. they should have kept it on WiiU only as it will effect its sales as in it will sell less because of the 3DS version

Yes but not from Smash. I think Smash will sell more wiiU's than 3ds but 3ds might sell more Smash than wiiU (if that makes any sense). I do think 2014 will be the year of the wiiU just as how 2013 is the year of the 3ds (basically) and Nintendo will probably do everything they can, for better or for worse, to sell wiiUs in 2014

Win? Yes. Dominate? I hope not, since I expect the 3DS to decline a bit in 2014.

Bear in mind what 2013 contained for the 3DS. A new cheaper model, the end of the first round of all the big handheld franchises onto the 3DS (Monster Hunter, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, etc.), and a lack of competition fro other handhelds or Nintendo platforms. Super Smash Bros 4 3DS will likely be huge, but it's not going to beat Monster Hunter 4 and Pokemon G6 combined by itself.

Meanwhile, we should be seeing the 8th gen consoles all rising from 2013 to 2014. The PS4 and One are simply because they just came out, but even the Wii U has a more promising 2014 than 2013 seemed to be at this time in 2012.

For the 3DS to not just do the best but DOMINATE 2014, it would require both major new releases along the lines of Super Mario 3D Land 2 and a new Pokemon AND the failure of all other dedicated platforms to live up to their potential.

Nintendo has really boosted sales about all they can with their typical games. Smash might give it a boost as the franchise has never been on portables and has a passionate fanbase, but it's hard to see Mario Golf, Yoshi's Island, or Bravely Default really boosting sales.

If Nintendo is going to see a YOY growth of more than 3 million or so, they need something else. They'll either need a sub $100 model, and not a cheaper 2DS but something new entirely, a massive new casual IP, or a big hardcore IP like GTA or something. Other than that, I don't see the 3DS improving much.

There are a lot of Japanese 3rd Party games that are going to be localize by Nintendo

Nintendo will release full 3D Movies to watch in glasses-free 3D, plus there's the 3DS XL (Warner Bros. & Disney & Dreamworks signed a contract, so they have no choice)

Nintendo only announce games being release in less then 12 months, if not shorter (this is a recent policy that's been going on for a year now)

Coverted Sony & Microsoft gamers buying into the system (3DS) throughout 2014.

Ironfall showing off graphics with only 7 million polygons, as compare to such over 130 million polygon graphic games as Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon & Kid Icarus: Uprising & etc.

3D catching on more with such recent movies as Gravity & Hobbit, plus NO 3D smartphones NOR tablets.

plus youTube App is just a web browser that streams HTML5 and uses the 128 MB FCRAM

plus update to do 3D streaming on Netflix. & Hulu Plus & YouTube Apps

And who knows what other surprises, if any.

Yes i agree, 3ds is going to dominate but really who is it's competition? Vita. Pffft!
