Damn.......... i had better get busy with any remaining trophies i have for some of these ps3 exclusives.

Gran Turismo 5 going down is a GIANT kick in the balls though, no question about it.

Project Gotham Racing 3 is still up on LIVE, and that was a LAUNCH game from back in 2005.

I'm surprized you still can play PGR3 online the DLC for it has been no longer available for a pretty long time now and the same thing also aplies to PGR4.

I never played GT5 online, was it any good? Sucks they are shutting down the online. The game is still selling quite well....

Don't understand GT5 being shut down. Game is still selling and plenty of people probably still play it online as well

Hey, sorry for the bump, I'm also disappointed about this decision, I have the 4 games....

By the way, Resistance 2 Online isn't working for about 5 hours now, do someone know if it's a bug or if the online will close sooner than what we expected? ;/ (Can someone confirms it's down? maybe it's only me...)

Oh, and Resistance FOM is still working online, we're 50-70 players at the moment !

Waaaay to early to be shutting down PS3 games. Sony still making the wrong decisions even after all the right decisions they made in the build up to the PS4.

GT5 is a huge game. Why would they shut it down?

Yay!!!

Those who are scratching their head about why Sony is shutting these games down while launch 360 games (as well as other PS3 games) are still up and running can find their answer below...

All these games being shut down use dedicated servers.  That's what happens when you lose 1.1 billion dollars. You have to start cutting costs... Meanwhile Halo 3, PGR3 and most 360 games use peer to peer.  Not to worry though...many PS3 games use P2P and will be up for a long time.

Sony just wants you to buy Gran Turismo 6, and this is the reason why i don't purchase any PlayStation products!!!

Wow, hope Microsoft doesn't follow Sony's direction with Gears of War, I love the original and the online is the best on the original.

Ok it was just a bug for Resistance 2 Online... It has been back after 8 hours down time.

But those games actually uses a lot of P2P I think, I mean, Resistance 1 is only Custom games, nobody plays ranked games nowadays so it's hosted by an user's PS3. On Resistance 2, there are all coop games hosted by people and like 70-90% of the competitive games hosted  by people playing also.

Isn't that mostly P2P for those games? (didn't check R3 and GT5 yet)
