I love realism just like the next guy. But sometimes, a more stylistic approach to graphics is nice. Ni No Kuni, for example, isn't realistic at all. But the art style is really well rendered. This is the same here, with Mario games. And no, it's not just the colors that "fool" us. ¬_¬

To be fair to Sumo Digital (developer of Sonic & Allstars Racing Transformed), their vehicle transformations actually changed the way the vehicles drove. Full free movement with aircraft where as the hang glider just meant you floated down to the track on MK7 and hovercraft actually floating on water rather than just being a propeller to drive underwater.

S&ART is best handheld "kart" racer at the moment though. I'm sure MK8 will regain Mario Kart's crown for home consoles though. That said, I'm now gutted that Kirby isn't in it following that Smash Bros tease!

Games did it before that too though, Spy Hunter had the whole car/boat thing down in the 80s :p

I have no need to "shut my mouth" thanks. Fact is, an awful lot of trolling goes on in these forums, and I apparently wasn't aware that some of the mods decided to come back from hiatus at some point and actually start doing their jobs again. My bad.

 

Whatever. Mario Kart 8 is gonna be awesome, that's all that matters.
