Forums - Nintendo - When will Wii U price drop?

It already got a price drop. The $300 new console comes with New Super Mario Bros U, and New Super Luigi U. I bought mine at launch for $349 with Nintendo Land.

That's pretty good, I'm just wondering with the bad sales if I couldn't get one for about 200 bucks after Christmas.

That's not going to happen, unless the Wii U totally fails next year. It's current 2014 lineup makes that unlikely. If it does have another price drop, it won't be until Holiday 2014 at the earliest, and would probably cost about $250.

What do u mean unbundled?

A Wii U console not bundled with a game, just the console itself.

The $299 price is bundled tho

Wii U+NSMBU+Luigi U=$299

Wii U+Wind Waker HD+Hyrule Historia=$299

Wii U+Skylanders+Nintendo Land=$299

I dont think they even sell Wii U unbundled anymore

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

1st drop was $50. I don't see it dropping another hundred very soon. Probably $249 first, but again it will probably be a bit before it takes another drop.

But to answer the question I could see a price drop to $249 In Q2/Q3 of 2014, if they hold out until 2015 tho I could see a drop to $199

My guess is $250 in September or October 2014

Unless sales are far below those of the other 8th gen consoles, I can't imagine a true price drop until early 2015. New bundles and models might pop up, but if Nintendo was losing a bit of money on a 32 GB bundle at $350 in 2012, they're probably losing money again for basically the same bundle in 2013 for $300.

the sooner the better for me.

Walmart had a short sale for the 8gb Wii U for $199 a few months back (which I picked up). Not sure when's the next time Wii U will hit the $199 price point again.

There were lots of deals in a couple places for Bundled WiiU's!!! BF had one for $250 for either NSMBU+NSLU or the LoZ WW HD! Im sure their are plenty of others
