Haven't played Sunshine. 3D World is just a great game with many great things I'VE SEEN ALL BEFORE. The other 3D Mario titles had revolutionary things you hadn't seen before, and I think that is completely neccessary in a new generation of consoles. 3D Mario has always shown lots of creativity, and while 3D World is really, really creative with its varied design (probably more varied than all of the others), it's just not that fun to play now compared to how entertaining the older titles were to play when they released.

Pretty much every game these days is a variation on previously established conventions. I'd say that despite being part of such a long running series, 3D World has more originality than about 95% of games coming out this year.

64>Galaxy=3D World>Galaxy 2>>>>>Sunshine

Upcoming Games To Get

Definite: Kirby Star Allies (Switch), Mario Tennis Aces (Switch), Fire Emblem (Switch), Yoshi (Switch), Pokemon (Switch), Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4), Monster Hunter World (PS4)

Considering: Fe (Switch), Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Switch), The World Ends With You (Switch), Ys VIII (Switch), Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (PS4), Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Remix (PS4), The Last Guardian (PS4), Shadow of the Colossus HD (PS4), Anthem (PS4), Shenmue 3 (PS4), WiLD (PS4)

It's incredibly hard to list these games in in terms of quality, since they all have their respective quilities that make them stand out in the crowd. But my list looks like this:

1. Super Mario Galaxy
- A groundbreaking masterpiece that took the 3d-plattforming formula to new hights!

2. Super Mario Galaxy 2
- Another masterpiece, almost equal to the first game in terms of quality. However, the sense of breaking new grounds has faded slightly in comparison.

3. Super Mario 64
- This game started it all! It's simply amazing!

4. Super Mario 3D World
- This game manages to capture the "party feel" of the New Super Mario Bros-series, and enhance it in a 3D-world. As a partygame it is close to perfection, but it lacks some of the qualities from Mario's earlier 3D-plattformers.

5. Super Mario Sunshine
This is not a bad game, it's actually quite good! But it lacks the excellence of other Super Mario games. Compared to most 3D-plattformers it's still quite amazing though.

For me it would be Galaxy>3D World>Galaxy 2>64 and I never played Sunshine.

I haven't played it, but it is a Wii U version of a 3DS game, so I don't think very high. Probably higher than Mario Sunshine though, that game was wretched and a stupid idea.

I am going to say fifth maybe? Below both Galaxies, Mario 3D Land, and Mario 64. I know people have said good things about it, but it's only a side-series game rather than a true 3D Mario game.

It's defintely not a side game. It's on par with Galaxy/Galaxy 2, people need to actually get over that already.

It destroys 3D Land ... not even the same class of game. Like I've said 3D Land is like eating an apetizer, 3D World is a three course meal with good wine.

Personally I like it better than Galaxy 2 though they are very close.

64>Galaxy 1>Sunshine>Galaxy 2>3D World>3D Land

More ambitious ones belong in the front.
