Sounds like a good decision for Walmart here. They sign a deal with Sony to get a large bunch of PS4's only 9 days before Christmas to promote in their advertising. Makes them look like the place to go to get the most sought after Christmas deals.

Also a good decision by Sony. They sign a deal that puts them into the advertising of the biggest retailer in the world during a crucial period after launch.

I think now EU launch passed Sony can finally supply US... not that over 1.5m for US until now was little but Americans wants more PS4... way more.

BTW my friend that I posted the picture of line at BestBuy this weekend bought it... he told me me yesterday... he is traveling to US right now in a mini vacation and he will come back with two PS4

I think it might be in response to Walmart. Corporate sent out notification that any Ps4's/X1's need to be held till Sunday for an ad. I saw the ad today. X1 is on the front with $499.99 in big font and one or two pages in the Ps4 with font talking about playing blu-ray movies, setting parental controls and the new dual shock 4 controller (which. needless to say I thought was weird).

Looks like PS4 will be easier to buy in the coming weeks. This is from Tesco:

UK PS4 Stock Deliveries to Become 'More Frequent' at Tesco

“I’m truly sorry, we cannot provide accurate stock information for [the PS4],” a representative told us on Twitter. “I can confirm that the deliveries will become more frequent in our Tesco Extra stores leading up to Christmas.”
