He needs to do something and fast. He still have the winner mind like they are in the Wii/DS era and has shown not been able to adapt to different situations.
Constant delays as if they were selling better than Wii or thinking bad marketing is a good one. Each day it passes, I'm more ready to see his head rolls.
It sure comes out like that, of course you do not think that really, but it is been a little weird lately. But, think about it, they made a plan, it could have worked, but it did not, just like the Vita did not work for Sony, shit happens, right?
However, I think they are trying to play the cards they have, they are making these games, and trying to sell them. these IPs are what they got, these are their strenght, but these days it is getting harder and harder really.
But, just like 3d Mario got praising, these humble games, MK8, DK, Smash will come out and get praise, the consoles will sell.
It is really not about winning anymore, what can Iwata really do, right? Not much, except what he is already doing: selling the games, developing what they can, and hoping for profit.
My opinion? The profit will come, the wiiU will became a little more atractive with time, it will NOT win the gen, but, who cares? As long as Nintendo survives, I am happy.
He really is not dumb, he is just having a hard time to adapt to the new gamers mind, the FPS stupid bro´s mentality that gaming is getting these days.
But, this too shall pass, just like all the other idiotic fads: the fighting games, the guitar heroes, etc. And Nintendo will survive.
My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.
I would think he would be crazy until I look at how much the 3ds has sold... It sold 1.2 MILLION on ps4/x1 console launch month... That is crazy, granted it was black friday but damnn!!! The wiiU is not selling but who knows... maybe in 2014, the wiiU will sell a lot better and its all part of his monster plan

The importance of these awards is vastly overblown on this site.
Iwata is fine, mistake were made, corrections are being made, things take time, it's a multi-billion dollar company not a high school project.
He just needs to relinquish control of Nintendo of America, and let Reggie be Reggie. That would be the biggest localization project nintendo has done in a while.
"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."
You really have to love silly internet overreaction. Happens every time. It doesn't matter what Nintendo might have shown, it wouldn't have been good enough and there would still be complainers. I admit, personally I was hoping for something else, but the Cranky reveal would have been cooler if it hadn't gotten spoiled by someone somehow leaking the boxart early. Honestly though, Cranky being playable, and his play paying homage to the classic Duck Tales game? How is that in any way bad? The game looks pretty cool, and though it's not what I'm most excited for gong forward, people's overreactions are hilariously dumb.

It's not bad, just have a limited appeal and it's just a character inclusion in a game that everyone knew about. It would be the same if they announceda character in Smash. Nice, but why bother showing up and doing a presentation?
