Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo is completely out of touch with reality.

Didn't watch nor had any desire to watch VGX. It's awful. But the only thing I've heard about is Nintendo, DKC and Cranky. And I think the game looks fantastic. Its funny when the hardcore hate the things Nintendo does, I like the things Nintendo does.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

If you mean that Nintendo shouldn't have shown up at all, then I agree. Attending VGX means to be out of touch with consumers.

VGX was such a mess... but Reggie's section was among the biggest messes.

Host: It's great talking about the Seahawks, but is there any other news?

Reggie: We announced the damned release date, what more do you want?  You're going off the prompter, what is this?  Damn you people with your own mind and expectations, what's wrong with you?

Host: I believe there are some threads right now expecting to hear a little more.

Reggie: Derr... halp.

Host: Anyway, let's switch back to the demo...

My 8th gen collection

i agree that was stupid. but im not impressed, thats what nintendo does.
Im also a great fan of its games.

Well Mario 3D World, what more is to say?

Let me put it this way to you:
A little while ago I was interest in this girl, way out of my league, as most women are.
So, I got close to her, talk for a while and said how I have felt. She rejected me.
A friend told me: "Are you crazy, what were you expecting? She is gorgeous, and you, well, you are you..."
And I said:
"I know, I just wanted to try, I know who I am and the cards that God gave me, I just used them."

That is it with Nintendo, they have those IPs and those studios, they are using what they have, they are giving it a shot. Who can blame them?
Trying to make Skyrim or CofD would be so ridiculous to them, we all would be ashamed of Nintendo if they tried that. They are doing their thing. I get frustrated with them sometimes, of course, but, when I think about it, I understand, you cannot apologize for who you are, the best you can do is to show up and give it a shot.
That is all...

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

The more I think about it, the more I think showing Cranky was by far the best move Nintendo could have made, right now. The IGN articles has almost 5000+ comments now, when compared to just a few hundred for the other new game articles, and it's not just everyone bashing Nintendo either. The game looks great and for as much as I want to see Zelda/Metroid, showing Cranky and trolling everyone with a Metroid pin has a ton of people talking about Nintendo again. DKC to me is a game like Starfox 3D, Fire Emblem Awakening, and Dream Team. Its not going to move a ton of consoles, but its a nice game to add to the overall library, which in the long run will be key to the Wii U's success.

Hahaha! Cant really argue with that one

The Nintendo fans who are pissed about Donkey Kong should just check out comment sections for the show. Really no negative reactions to Nintendo, because those people don't care much (if at all) about Nintendo anyway. It's all about how horrible the rest of the show was.

If the show wasn't so horrible, the focus could have been on Nintendo. But I digress, most people who were watching were probably more interested in the world premieres than anything. Still it wasn't wrong for Nintendo to step out of their boundaries from their usual Directs. Attending VGX could have been a step forward if they came with a brand new trailer of Smash or even X. Not only would all the Nintendo gamers who tuned in (because I'm sure they did) see it but also more who never gave Nintendo a thought. But bringing Cranky Kong was completely pointless.

Nintendo should habe shown the trailer at some ign event i guess.

Anyway Wagner congratz for the shot

The show was that bad.   The hosts were unprepared.  Most of the guests looked like nervous wrecks and were also unprepared.  Reggie and Shafer looked like the only guys that could handle the spotlight.  The show was so bad that even if Zelda was shown, we still would have been talking about  how bad it was.  At one point the guys outside went "Oh we have 30 seconds left?" then stood there and the guy behind him yelled potatoes and tried to get everyone to chant potatoes.  Thats how bad it was.

This, plus Keighley hyping up Nintendo's announcement sounds a lot like they were trying to set up Nintendo for embarrassment. Surely, they knew beforehand what Nintendo was going to bring to the show.

They had to hype it up, didn't they. Only Nintendo really showed up out of the big three. They had to hype something. This seem more incompetence then the usual misgiving towards Nintendo (although those things overlap sometimes).
