Sony - Their exclusives are only matched by Nintendo but the variety and amount of genres is on a complete different level.
Sony always tries to bring new stuff and lets their developers push them out. They allow a lot and their developers are surely happy about it.
Multiple teams inside the teams and all of them are doing different things...some of them even industry defining games like Naughty Dog.
The 3rd Party loves them too cause Sony is willing to support them too if they want to try something that isn't so mainstream.
Nintendo could be on that niveau too but they somehow won't do that in those amounts Sony is doing it.And sadly their Hardware is not attractive enough for the 3rd Party even though some games show they can keep up.
I like how Sony is combining extremely powerful hardware with new projects and is willing to support them and the developers beyond that.
They are the reason gaming has still its variety of genres on consoles.

a man after my own heart. Couldn't have said it better myself. Willingness to experiment with games like Beyond, Heavy Rain, Puppeteer, Rain, Flower, Journey, etc. make me love Sony for that risk taking. Also the fact that they love to bring new IP. Uncharted, LoU, Resistance, Infamous, Heavy Rain, Beyond, Puppeteer, Flower, Journey, Rain, and many more were ALL new IP this gen and they've already shown The Order, Knack, Resogun, and Driveclub as new IP for next gen. It's crazy how much new they create. Nintendo I love for their refinement. They don't do anything crazy with Mario or Zelda, but they don't need to. The CORE gameplay is SO solid and they don't bog themselves down with the story so they can tweak the gameplay to fit a new theme like Galaxy for a new machine. In the end you're always jumping on stuff or solving the dungeons but the new comes from new dungeons and new things to jump on and ways to jump on them. People can say it's the same but NEVER have I played a 3D Mario or Zelda and thought "been there done that." Of course part of that is due to only having 1 per platform normally. This keeps their franchises from becoming exhausted which is why Sony can't maintain a franchise a lot of times (Ratchet FFA and A4O shouldn't have been released for instance to give the series a chance to breath while they focused on a HUGE PS4 launch title with all that time). |
Why thank you, good sir. I see you have great taste yourself. xD To be honest that is the winning combo in my view. I've been doing it since PS1/N64 days and both have satisfied my needs. I received the Xbox and Dreamcast as gifts from friends, but neither brought me gaming pleasure as the PS2 and GC (though I did like he DC). Likewise, this gen I see great things with the PS4 and Wii U, so I'll be sticking to that formula. Three is excessive in my view, and why mess with a good thing when it is working well? My only issue with Nintendo is that my real friends don't see it that way, so I'll likely be a solo gamer on that machine (with the exception of 1 or 2 dudes), while at least 20 of them will go PS4/XBO. So I'll probably be playing with randoms and forums dudes online lol It's ironic since Ninendo platforms were my mp machines before.
Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS
Sony, who easily has the best exclusives to offer in my opinion.
Not Sony:
Why?
At one time I used to buy everything Sony... Alarm clocks, discmans, playstation 1 and 2, TVs, receivers, cameras, video cameras... EVERYTHING...
But, what I found is that after the one or two or three year warranty would expire that I would often find the device would die shortly after warranty. And I would have to replace it. That didn't put me over the edge but I started to be concerned.
And then one day my 40" backlit TV that I paid $4,000 for (at that time $4000 was insane for a TV that size but I thought I was buying quality) crapped out the day before the warranty expired. That was February 28, 2001 (I bought the device March 1, 1999 with a two year warranty). When I phoned Sony on February 28, 2001 they told me that the device was no longer on warranty because Sony counted 365 x 2 days and since the previous year was a leap year I was out of luck. I talked to supervisors and Sony leaders, and then one Sony exec, listing how many devices I had purchased (In fact I faxed them the receipts) Sony throughout my life and they all had the same answer for me... Too bad... The exec was particularly rude. He told me that I should expect to change my electronics after the warranty expires and that my brand loyalty to Sony was something they valued but they wouldn't help me because it was a high end TV and I should be able to afford a new one.
At the time I was a bit strapped for cash so I ended up not having a TV for several months. When, I got back to being able to afford electronics again I vowed that Sony would no longer get the lion's share of my electronics money... And they don't... In fact, the only thing I buy Sony is playstations. And that is solely because of the exclusive games. I never buy a multi-platform game Sony and I never buy any other Sony electronics. As for the huge TV that died. I put it in t he back of my truck, drove to the Sony store I bought it with two friends, we hoisted the monster out of the truck and placed it right in front of their many door so no one could enter the store with spray paint on it that Sony Sucks. We drove away and let them deal with it...
Would have to say Nintendo, just due to childhood memories

that was really funny
Sony. Because I grew up with their games
I like Nintendo too. The N64 had some of the best wrestling games at the time.
Microsoft just doesn't have much to offer me.
It would have to be Nintendo, without even looking at the games on the systems. What other company has their execs take a pay cut when a system is under-performing?
Sony sell multimedia trojan horses, and Microsoft is known for anti-competitve behaviour. I find it hard to like either company.
