supply and poor tracking

If the reason for the PS4's poor showing post-launch week is lack of supply, then Sony really did screw up big time. How many Christmas shoppers are now going to pick up the competition due to lack of availability?
Did Sony underestimate the popularity of their console? Were they severely constrained by production capability? Or are we seeing the post-launch slump for the PS4 in a big way?

yeah and I don't believe on overtracked Wii U. Seems about right for me...
Some of you all post news about "supply" on PS4 and now you seem suprisded
Surprised by this week? Just wait until next week when the PS4 sells no more than 250,000 worldwide. From what we've heard they're only able to make a million per month. As long as it retains stead sales though it's good. Not like after getting a few weeks of good sales after a game releases or a holiday it's going to drop down to 20,000.

There´s nothing surprising here.
Isn´t the WiiU cheaper than the PS4 and have lots of different bundles ? There were more deals with WiiU this Black Friday than with PS4.
Both performed well for that week and both companies should be pleased with these numbers.
I´m not sure if this is a supply problem, since the previous week PS4 sold only 93k. That give Sony some room to prepare supply for the Black Friday

By the way, isn´t the Xbox brand way more popular in the US than the PS brand ?
Edit: This last Black Friday seemed to be one of the weakest ever for videogames. Only Call of Duty Ghosts sold more than 400k. Considering the huge sales of the Xbox brand and 3ds, I was expecting at least a few titles to sell better than 500k

I'm not expecting much for the ps4 during December. Sony sold 2.1 million as of December 1, if they're expecting to produce 1 million per month, that means less than 250k per week through December. Assuming 55% allocation for NA, the sales should be between 100-120k.
