Yeah you cannot compare a single launch country to a worldwide launch.
But... does that mean @Teriol you expect the Wii-u to sell upwards of 80-100+ million? Would love to know if thats what you are suggesting. Because i can take a bet with you that it will be discontinued way before that. At the moment they will be lucky to reach 40 million lifetime.

I think the Dreamcast sold more in both 1999 and 2000, it's first full year worldwide.

Well you have to take in account the market growth between the 70s and now. And that this console was just released in japan its not a worthwile comparison.
