Every company has it's bad moments. As bad as the Wii U is doing right now it will not be the end of Nintendo's home console business.

Nintendo would destroy COD if they went third party.

As long as they continue to make great games, they will never be irrelevant.
You know what's more irrelevant than Nintendo? Discussing articles about video game companies and their relevance on forums like this... Nothing remotely useful can come of this discussion.

It reminds me of the whole "any press is good press" phrase we always hear. Nintendo will have a problem when people are not even trying to bash them anymore. You don't hear these kind of things about the Vita from anyone and that's the sign of true irrelevance. |
Except he's also praising Nintendo. He's saying that it's a shame that the lack of success for the Wii U is going to keep people from playing Nintendo software. Bashing would be your attempted shot at the Vita for no real reason.
You know, honestly, I don't mind people arguing against what he's saying, except that most people seem to actually be ignoring what he's saying so they can rail against a different argument.

Saying that "no one gives a s**t" is bashing even if he praises nintendos games later on. I knocked the Vita a little there, but I would bet a million bucks that Sony would much rather have Vita in the press, even negatively, then to be ignored at all. I saw a used Vita today at a Pawn Shop for 135 and was tempted to pick it up because Tearaway looked pretty cool, but the way the PSP was shaped used to make my hands cramp up so I left it.
The Wii really got lucky last generation and it managed to beat all the odds and sell 100 million and recovered from the dismal 22 million sales the GC. The Wii was the first Nintendo console system that sold more than the previous generation. SNES, N64 and GC all sold less than the previous generation Nintendo console.
