Forums - Sales - PS4 sold through 2.1 million units worldwide as of 12/1 (700k EU)

awesome numbers. PS4's combined launch week so far is 1.8 million, with japan and middle east it will easily break the 2 million mark. also it seems PS4 more than doubled xbox EU launch.

Evidently Sony are targeting North America and UK so they are allocating the majority of shipmenets there. In Australia for instance the pre-orders are so high (or the shipmenets are so low?) that it is impossible to get a PS4 until next year.
I can imagine a similar scenario in Europe. In any case considering they are guaranteed to sell over 3 million by the end of the year worldwide, Sony's estimate of 5 million sold by the end of March 2014 in hindsight may even turn out to be a tad pessimistic.

I don't care who you are, you have to admit those are impressive numbers.

700k for rest of the world (EU + Australasia, so EU around 600-650k????, only 350-400k for the of Europe?????)..., is a bit disappointing...., I expected Sony would be able to produce more at launch. So how many Ps4 were sold in the acumulative launch week ww???, around 1'8-1'9 million then??

If Xbox One sold around 1'2 million worldwide in less countries... i have 2 conclusions,...PS4 only have a 1'5:1 ratio advantage worldwide at launch, far far away of the 2:1 at least i was expecting and Sony is not lying when they say they will sell 3 million at the end of the year and 5 by March. So if they sold 2'1 million they have around 900k for December worldwide.

I wonder how many units expect Microsoft to ship for Xbox one at the end of the year... but if they sell more than 2 million worldwide at the end of the year, i think it will be a moral victory for them after all they went through this year.

After observing more the numbers.... Xbox One sold in Europe 325k and PS4 sold around 650k, here we have the 2:1 ratio, but considering it launched in more countries and the hype there was in Europe i expected almost a 3:1 ratio at launch for Ps4. Maybe the numbers of Xbox One are overtracked in Europe...

700K for Europe, Australia and Asia... That was certainly not enough :(

They preferred to have a better stock in NA than EU, which is understandable, they want to get NA back since EU is pretty much a given (not counting the UK).

I know, it does make sense. But I'm still bitter I can't have one...

According to Vgchartz... Wii sold 2'95 million at the end of 2006 and WiiU 2'25 million at the end of 2012. If Sony is not able to ship more than 3 million worldwide at the end of 2013, suddenly the numbers won't be so spectacular as it seems....Maybe the one with yield issues was Sony after all....

Breaking records not enough??? They have sold what they made, and are beating MS in their 2 major markets........What did you expect? They can only make them so fast.
