It appears so. Not only due to the PS+ but if you look at their (lack of) support for the platform it really appears that they just want to left it behind and forget that it existed.

This the lack of support you speak of? Advertising is one thing, but Vita's game selection is vast and varied and riddled with potentially great titles.

Do you know what most of those games have in common.. that they are 3rd party games.

I think will purchase a vita one day I guess but it will be mostly for some of the 3rd party games that interest me  (persona, Ys, Final fantasy).

I didn't said the machine doesn't have good games, but in my opinion Sony is not really helping much. I do think they probably would prefer to move on. Didn't they even said recently in an statement that the Ps3 & ps4 will be their focus in terms of new software?

Sony can't make all the games for the system by themselves. Most of the complaints about Vita's Library till this point has been the LACK of 3rd party support (Capcom:MonHun, SquareEnix:Bravely Default and KH DDD, etc). Sony 1st Party released Soul Sacrifice, KZ:Mercs, and Tearaway this year. You don't usually get too much more than that from 1st party in a single year(n comparison PS3 got TLoU, Beyond,Puppeteer). Sony has been burnign the midnight oil getting 3rd Party games and indies to put effort on Vita.

Greatness Awaits

PSN:Forevercloud (looking for Soul Sacrifice Partners!!!)

I haven't bought a single game specifically for the Vita.

Sony has released 3 first party games this year...usually dont get much more then that on a home console.......................heck 360 had less then that the last what seems like 3 years.

No they said BIG teams are moving to ps4...vita doesnt need big AAA teams.

As for the OP, cannot see how giving gamers a tonne of value is hurting vita.

Ok...so I got a Vita months back.

I wanted Uncharted for it, never found it at my local store, I've waited a bit.

Lo and behold, I got PS+...ok, doesn't hurt.

Bam...Uncharted Golden Abyss...ok, cool, don't need to buy it.

Stealth looked interested, was thinking of buying it...BOOM! On PS+.

Riiiight then...too bad I didn't buy a version of the Jak & Daxter collection with cross buy...PS+ again .

Guacamelee looks int....oh.

Little Big Planet Kar.....oh COME ON!

Every game I was interested in buying for the Vita so far...Sony has gifted to me via PS+. I feel spoiled.

There is 1 single reason to do this for Sony, it's to constantly remind people who have psn+ on their Ps3/4's that if they were to pick up a Vita they will have a ton of games to play on the system right outta the box, which is sort of true... you would have access to these games on the Vita if you pick up a system. However, just because you have access to a ton of psn store games does not mean they are free if you just buy the system on it's own, if you take something like little big planet vita for example that game is close to 2gb PSASBR for the vita comes in closer to 3gb with it's patches.

When you consider that 8gb cards cost 35euros here that means that for each of these "free" games you can play you need approx 17 euros of storage space to hold um, it really is a Razor and blades buisness model. Free games.... that you need to spend money to have.

More like, they already have. Although I feel like they wouldn't purposely give too many games away on PS+, I doubt Sony is anywhere near that dumb.
