Forums - Gaming Discussion - Critically panned games that you love?

I'm sure we all have at least one.  Not even a guilty pleasure, but a game you adore even though it was destroyed by critics and gamers alike.

For me, it's Alone In The Dark (360), don't get me wrong, the PS2 version is garbage, but the 360 version is just so awesome in my opinion. I can get over crappy contols (I'm a Resident Evil player after all ;)) and I love how innovative it was (or tried to be). I acknowledge it's various flaws but I love it all the same.

What about you guys?

I was actually gonna get one of those a few years back but decided not to. They look kinda interesting though so I may give them a look!

Dynasty Warriors, I play every title.

Speaking from a subjective POV, the gameplay isn't all that interesting, but the story is what hooks you if you can put yourself in the Pokemon's shoes. The DS iterations are better for story, but to me, I love the gameplay and the story, so it's a win win.

I've actually heard some pretty good things about that series, 5 in particular I heard was pretty good!

Digimon World 4, the game was a really fun co-op game.

Disney Epic Mickey.

The combination of melancholy darkness and colourful fun was brilliant, motion controls were used well, and I didn't find the camera anywhere near the game breaker others did.

Metacritic says 6/10, I say 8/10.

Most of the games people mentioned and will mention here.

Dynasty warriors love the series , play it all the time with someone and never get bored.
Alone in the Dark , loved it , it was innovative and still is, but the worst thing was the ending.
Pokemon Dungeons
final fantasy chocobo dungeon
and finally White Knight Chronicles.
