If they have the money - why should it matter?

might as well go buy a sock for 350 dollars. if they have the money, why does it matter?

I didn't think Brazil and Australia were that bad when it came to taxes.

Exactly!
Crazy stuff. Althought, the head of Sony Br said to Estadao.com a while ago that their shipment was 5k units. There are 5 thousand people willing to pay double of something costs in Brazil for sure.

If you ever worked in your life, you do not have the guts to pay so much more for something. Of course, if your money comes from parents or the lottery, then you do not give a shit, you pay ice creams with 100 dollar bills and say "Kepp the change".
But, not even Bill Gates would buy a PS4 at this price, well specially him...

What I don't understand is why Sony even bothers with 3rd world countries like Brazil. If they're only going to sell a few thousand consoles it's not even worth it when they can easily sell those elsewhere.

I think the sales of consoles here are over millions... it is not that low market like most thing... it was selling better than UK (of course UK have a slowdown to wait the next-gen console but even so).

Brazil isn't considered a third world country.
