@ fps_d0minat0r: who ever said people cannot get new experiences? I probably played the first Doom before many others even heard of it, just to give an example. What I meant is, you CAN play Nintendo's games without being forbidden to play other things. But with all due respect the argument that their games are only good out of nostalgia is totally wrong. Otherwise all the Sonics over the last years would be major hits amongst critics. Also, look at the latest installments in the Final Fantasy series to understand what I mean.

I know but why would I play nintendo games if im not intereted in them anymore?

when I was a kid I also liked microscooters, but that doesnt mean I still use one even though it wont forbid me to use a car.

when I was a kid I also liked yoyos but that doesnt mean id play with one now even if it doesnt forbid me to play cards.

I wouldnt bother watching animated movies even though they dont forbid me from watching movies with realistic CGI

a lot of things are only good because of nostalgia and it probably includes a lot of the things I play now. maybe in 10 years time I wont enjoy shooters like I do today. maybe in 20 years time I wont enjoy simulators and maybe in 30 years time I wont enjoy gaming at all. At that time I 'COULD' still play games but why would I if im not interested anymore?

exactly.

^ @ both of you: the fact you are not interested anymore is ok and everyone should respect that. But don't say that people that do enjoy many things that date for years back have not grown up. I myself love swimming as much as I did when I was five, but that did not prevent me from getting a Masters degree and to be on the way I am to finish a PhD.

I guess I have not grown up either. I liked to watch cartoons as a kid an now as an adult I enjoy Family Guy, South Park etc.,

I enjoyed riding my bicycle as a kid and now as an adult I enjoy my Sunday ride.

The world is full of adults that haven't grown up it seems. Long may it contunue.

Exactly! One's got to have very little confidence in (his/her)self to be afraid of enjoying the things that makes one happy, even though they don't sound "cool" to others.

Off Topic: your name is the same as that of the Emperor whose work allowed Roman Law to be studied and change the world (except for Britain and the US, that is).

for me, and many others the sig would be more accurate if it said:

I grew out of Nintendo's games. Nintendo's games didnt grew up with me though.

sure when i was 7-11 i liked playing nintendo games. but then i grew up and out of nintendo games. Nintendo hasnt changed or grown up since, they are still the same kiddie games.

You really have no idea what you're talking about.  You probably think Nintendo is only Mario, Kirby, and Pokemon.  Yet it seems like you don't care to find out that Nintendo is also Zelda, Metroid, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, Super Smash Bros, Star Fox, F-Zero, Golden Sun, EarthBound and more.

You're probably the same kind of person who thinks GTA and CoD are adult games, so playing them means you're mature.

I have taken this from the first post you wrote:

Maybe thats the problem. Nintendo are hoping just because people grew up with their games they will keep buying them for the rest of their lives.

There are some people that carry on doing what they used to do when they were 8 years old, but most people change.

I don't want to be a pain in the arse and you seem to be a nice folk. Sorry, then, if I insist on my point, but can you see how your argument has turned against you? If you yourself keep on doing things that you used to like growing old (as you have just admitted to do), then you are automatically excluded from the group of the "most people" you have affirmed that change. Thus, you have not grown up, just like everyone of us who llike Nintendo.

Generalization is a dangerous thing and can even be offensive.

In my opinion, the only thing they really did wrong was to call it the "Wii U." I was initially confused myself as to what exactly this was and I truly believe that many people are confused as well. Now having said that, I LOVE the system! I have both the PS4 and the XBONE and I have been coming back over and over to the Wii U because of FUN game play. People need to get past this "Nintendo is a kiddy machine" nonsense and take a serious look at what it offers us as GAMERS. I do love all three systems, truly I do, but I find myself smiling and having fun with Mario, Zelda, and all the rest at the moment and hope that they get much more aggressive QUICKLY as far as marketing this machine to the masses. And as for this other bit of silliness, "Nintendo didn't grow up with me" well, that's just really silly. When I play Killzone, CoD, God of War, etc. I don't suddenly feel like I am playing "big boy" games and feel like a child playing Mario 3D. I am 47 yrs. old and have been gaming since the early 70's with the Telstar arcade etc. so for whatever that's worth...:)

Try to do at least ONE good deed everyday....
