Sure, paying "just" $100 more to receive less games and pay for online is certainly the best option.

I already have Playstation Plus so I would get Resogun and Contrast for free. 

While I do agree Super Mario 3D world will probably be the best overall game this holiday, I think you get more value and fun with the Ps4 for the money you pay for it. 

Maybe, but Wii U is getting a lot of games next year. Good ones! At least for now it seems to be the best option. Besides you now have to pay for online on the PS4 .

And you have to get PS+ to play online.  That's a potential $50 more!

Anyway Super Mario 3D World should be the only reason. It's reason enough to justify the console U_U

But you can get an Xbox One for just $100 more than that, and it has a better launch lineup than the PS4 does.

But you can build a gaming rig for about $100 or $200 more than that, which will play similar games and be much more versatile AND have free online play.

But for an extra $200 or $300, you can future proof your PC and use it for the next ten years with minimal adjustments.

But for an extra $200 or so, you can get all three consoles.

But...

For me personally, $300 is the most I'll spend on a console myself. I got a Wii U deluxe at launch only because it came with a game and somebody helped me pay for mine as a gift. And when it comes to value, the Wii U probably doesn't contain as much in total as the PS4, but considering how the PS4 requires PS+ for many of its features whereas Nintendo Network is free, and both consoles offer what extra functionality I REALLY want (netflix, web browsing, etc.), the Wii U is a better deal for me personally.

But that's just me.

True you have to pay, but the free games accross all platforms makes it worth it. And like the old 360 argument, I'm willing to pay for a better service. No offense to Nintendo and the Wii U, but the online community is borderline Ps2/Xbox quality. It's pretty bad.... You don't get a Wii U to play the latest Call of Duty or Battlefield online. When I owned my 360, I payed for Gold because it was a lot better than the PSN back then. I was willing to pay for a superior service.

Well I don't care about a better service since I don't like to play online. Besides we already pay for internet so it's good to have no paywall for the service.

If online multiplayer games is all you want to play though then a PS4 and Xbox One would be indeed, a better choice, since I only play single player games and local multiplayer games. But right now I wouldn't trade Super Mario 3D World for any launch game on the PS4 and the Xbox One.

I think that the PS4 and Xbox One will be a very good choice next year though when the big games come out.
