Isn't it the most popular way for people to attempt to fix things ? Give it a few whack and hope for the best. Not sure i'd try it on a brand new 500$ console tho. |
The notion of hitting a piece of hardware and hoping for the best has always been comical due to the VCR days which the X1 ironically looks like, it's a comical reference to retro style out of date hardware which needs a good old style whack to get going because of primitive mechanisms being used which was often compared to donkeys because the latter was sometimes be too stubborn to work so would need a good smack to start pulling its weight, that's the running joke when ever you see people doing it in films and TV shows.

This is the difference I've noticed between Sony Problems, and Microsoft problems.
Sony's console fucks up a bit, and you've got Xbox people frothing at the mouth to discredit it and tear it down and stuff.
Miicrosoft's console fucks up just as much (if not, more), and people make jokes about smoke clouds and grilling burgers.
And this is why I prefer my kind of condescension to the more aggressive Xbox style.
My Console Library:
PS5, Switch, XSX
PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360
3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, PSP, Android
So it turns into...
A George Foreman grill?
Seriously, I keep trying to convince myself MS couldn't be this inept, but it's almost as if they WANT to imitate the image of the PS3 launch by now.
Also, what's up with these fruity new faulty hardware names? Is the PS5 gonna suffer from the Chartreuse Light of Odour?

It's all in good fun. Some people take it too seriously though.

That's my point, we're having fun and joking now that Xbox messed up, but when Sony messed up, it was doomsayers and ill-wishers and pseudo victory laps. I've never found Sony fans to be nearly as aggressive as Xbox fans.

Don't ever say "Xbox you are smoking hot" to Kinect Nor leave it download by itself.
Now those reports of XBone roasting cats and dogs don't seem that oustrageous anymore. |

My friend's roommate had a 360 that started smoking when we were playing NBA 2K8. I wonder if this is the same issue.
I am the Playstation Avenger.
