Forums - Sales - GameStop: 2.3 Million Customers Waiting for PS4

Dammit... who changed my thread?

From the conference call "In addition to selling through all of our reservations and some additional allocation we've received from Sony, we still have over 2.3 million customers on the first to know list which indicates continued demand for months to come."

It is about PS4 only guys... fixing for accuracy... first to know list is unique for the item.

Sorry to disappoint Xbone's dudes.

Yeah it was clear it was ONLY for PS4 from the beginning. I think one xbone fan will be very disappointed

lmao... and the rest of the article says...

They also anticipate a large waiting list for Microsoft Corp. (MSFT)’s Xbox One, suggesting a prolonged industry sales slump is ending.

Sony said on Nov. 17 it sold more than 1 million PlayStation 4 consoles in the U.S. and Canada within 24 hours of the $399 machine going on sale. The figure included some of the 1 million units Tokyo-based Sony presold on a global basis, said Dan Race, a PlayStation spokesman.

Microsoft’s $499 Xbox One goes on sale tomorrow in 13 countries and also is expected to be in high demand after a seven-year drought on new home consoles from the two companies. Nintendo Co. (7974)’s Wii U is entering its second year of sales.

GameStop fell 6.5 percent to $49.04 at 11:50 a.m. in New York after dropping as much as 11 percent, the biggest intraday decline since May. The company forecast fourth-quarter profit of $1.97 to $2.14 a share, less than the $2.16 average of 20 analysts’ estimates compiled by Bloomberg.

The retailer, which accounts for more than half of Sony and Microsoft’s video-game software sales, will benefit from the console transition based on its ability to lure gamers who trade in older titles and hardware for discounts on new gear, said Colin Sebastian, an analyst at Robert W. Baird & Co. in San Francisco. He recommends buying the stock.

This thread is about the PS4, not the Xbox One.

Stop trying to steer it off-topic.

LMAO! No it isnt. its about a news item about sales from Bloomberg which mentions both and its in the sales section of the forum.

thanks.

So much desperation Kowenicki. The thread is about the rather large number of people still waiting to get a PS4 from Gamestop. What the article says about the Xbox One is both irrelevent and uninformative. You act like this is the first time that a thread has been made about a specific piece of news taken out of an article. Shouldn't you be playing your Xbox? You have all of those...great games to play...

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I changed it, seemed like a more reasonable expected conclusion so I believed it and I was hoping to keep the thread from turning into a shit storm of people saying the thread title should be changed when the OP wasn't around.  To be fair though I didn't fully read the quote so I guess I misinterpreted it as well.  If you've looked at what those guys are saying and don't agree then you guys can all suss it out.

...

I cant wait to have the numbers at the end of the year :)

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

It would be awesome if they could have enough supply for over 3 million sales by years end.
