The Free To Play nickel and diming sounds absolutely terrible.

So Forza 5 costs 60$, the Season Pass is 50$ AND you can buy ingame currency with real money ?

That only for people that are super lazy making money is not that hard plus if you sign up to the Forza Rewards program which is free you get free cars and money each month.

So the microtransactions are ON TOP of the 50$ Season pass ? Or did I miss something ?

Unacceptable !

From what I've read so far the content of the reviews seems to be inline with what I expected since I was following the game pretty closely...but I still thought they'd score it a tad higher despite those problems. (Polygon score is expected though, lol).

xbox owner now get the change to choose between 2 racing game that score 80+, it will be a tough decision.

I expected it to drop (mostly due to less race tracks and the EA style access to cars/stages which eliminates the sense of progress) but not to this extent. I thought the graphics might compensate.

This has been a huge surprise. i was thinking 90 minimum

Like said before that is only for lazy people and with only slightly more then 200 cars to begin with its not that hard to get most of the cars through regular game play.  I played FM4 for about 130 hours and have over 180 cars.  In FM5 you no longer get cars for the first 50 levels up rank up but the cars as a whole are less expensive so if I play FM5 for the same amount of time my guess is I will still have about 150 cars by then.

Just don't buy the game and stop whining.

Forza 4 and Forza Horizon did the same thing. Every release people complain but its not gonna change.

Even GT6 is adding time saving micro transactions and there will be paid DLC.

I doubt that a lot of people are going to buy tokens I never bought any in Horizon or FM4.  Plus with a reduced car roster there really is no need to buy any unless you are super lazy.  I'm sure you can earn enough credits to buy all the cars in less then 200 hours.  Plus you still can make money for making custom paint jobs those people will make money a lot faster if they are talented in that department.

Well if they keep putting micro transactions in these games a good number of people must be buying tokens.

Eitherway, the series has had a good balance where buying tokens never felt necessary.

the first words of this review are "forza 5 is not as good as forza 4"

they also say either forza 4 simulation is wrong or forza 5 simulation is wrong, as everycar in forza 5 slides everywhere and you could simulate it buy sliding a shopping trolly round the tracks

and there is a criminal lack of content here which turn10 should not be blamed for its microsoft!!!!!
