I just don't understand how some reviewers are rating it so high, a lot less cars and tracks compared to Forza4. The series is also still missing offroad racing, weather and a day/night cycle. The game seems somewhere in the 7-8 range.

my thoughts precisly its being overated , people will be bored of this pretty quick apart from the peepz who subscribe to all the DLC

I think this will be a trend because the gap from this gen is less noticeable than the one between the 6th and 7th gen so it's reflected on the scores, games appear to be less impressive so they get harsher scores.

Forza Horizon was made by a diffrent deveolper, but yeah...it's still the lowest scored in the series.

So, what does everyone think? Was it the right decision to have Forza 5 at launch? Or should it have come later but with more content? Should it have been a "Prologue" rather than a main-line numbered release?

Still, in the end, it's nothing new not to have GOTY-caliber titles at launch. It's going to be a "good but not great" period in terms of software, which I think is just fine.

I think the 2 year dev cycle is really starting to show... They need to add different types of racing, off road for example, day/night cycles, dynamic lighting, stuff that feels fresh you know. FM5 sounds more like a small update to FM4 to me with even less cars and tracks.

And yeah I expect GT6 to score lower than 5.

Well i don't see any Forza 5 videos there but I'm looking at someone else playing Forza 5 on that site he is using a Miata with a wood grain paint job.  The game has a sexy female voice doing pre race comentary also has a lot of Jeremy Clarkson comentary very cool.  Also he didn't do so good he finished in 4th place and appearently there are already a lot of other people playing it because there where over 2,400 people ranked ahead of him.

That's what happens when you're making a launch game and can't delay it. It gets stressful and you have to cut some things. Forza 6 will be fine.
