Forums - Nintendo - Update: 94 on MetaCritic! Super Mario 3D World: A Game Once Doubted Is Now Highest Rated Game of The Holiday! Anybody Eating Crow?

I...don't...believe it.

Can't wait 'till my local Target or Bestbuy get this game. I have to play it for myself.

The biggest game this "holiday" will be COD, Battlefield,GTA5 or Pokemon.

imho it'll be 3D World in the family market.

How is that even possible? The Wii-U install base is too tiny for it to sell well and nothing is going to make people buy it, not even a perfect 10 Mario. I know some people are STILL holding out hope that there is a magic game out there that's going to propel this console to the top of the charts, but it's just not going to happen. It's going to be a stellar game for those who still love Mario, but it's not going to be Titanfall or COD.

NSMB was the most popular Mario ever released, I believe, and look how to follow up did. If that game couldn't sell Wii-U, how is this game going to do it?

No, not a magic game, but a large collection of exclusive quality titles is what'll sell the system. That's why NSMBU hasn't moved tons of consoles, because barely anyone buys a system solely for one game, no matter how big that one game is. Yes there were other games of course, but I believe the whole "Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games!" thing holds some merit, so naturally it wasn't gonna sell with only 2 first party games for like 8 months straight. Also, I believe NSMBU's system selling ability was neutered by NSMB2 releasing just 3 months before. SM3DW wont have that problem, and it'll be releasing on a cheaper system with an already established library. Further still, the momentum gained from this holiday will not be lost due to a drought, as Wii Fit U, DKCTF, MK8, and possibly moar should be releasing within the first 4 months of 2014.

Great news! Then again, is it really a surprise when we all realize its Nintendo first party? LOL! Can't wait to play it!

I was excited about this game even back when it was first unveiled, so no regrets here.

I thought 3D Land was overrated with the score it received, but watching videos, I do agree this game looks a lot better than expected.

I'm happy all the nay-sayers got to eat crow this time.

Just because you didn't get your perfect Galaxy 3 doesn't mean anything else is crap on a stick.

@Prayformojo How can you not see that logic is insanely flawed? NSMB can't sell an system on its own. No matter how well it sold on a platform before it. Might I also add that NSMBWii released for Wii well after it had an large user base. They are hardly comparable.

If the next Zelda reaches this same level of quality, it will be really hard to resist the WiiU, and, in the name of god, do NOT make a Fatal Frame U, I would have to buy the console for this alone

I would sell my freaking soul for a Fatal Frame Wii U, Fatal Frame 4 and the Wii remake of #2 were among my favourite Wii games.

It would be so amazing, with the gamepad and all...

doesn't nintendo own the franchise? Or was that spirit camera?

I know they published the fourth game and own the rights from it, but the franchise do belong to Tecmo

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.
