Later in the gen you'll see why power is needed, when there ar PS4/XB1 multiplats that just aren't possible on WiiU, same as last gen.

BELIEVE

I'm guessing you're one of those guys that think Skyrim was possible on Wii.

Xenoblade Chronicles demonstrates that is possible.

Before buying a game, sit down thinking about the company you are giving money. It is an investment, remember that.

think about the games you wanna play LOL

mmm, I give my money to the company I think I has the best games. I am not saying one of them is better than the other one, that is your decision.

Just because Mario and Zelda have a strong following, doesn't mean that they are games for everyone.

With the new consoles, its too soon to brag. Third parties haven't had the time to release their games yet. But, if the first party titles are anything to show off (at least for Killzone for PS4), then I can't wait for third party devs to show off their titles.

Could you find for me how many third parties games are in top 10 lists of all time (from valid sources, not just some random blog) and compare vs how many games from Nintendo appears in those lists?

Thanks.

It's fair to say that Nintendo's holding are in the highest of sales. But that's because their core demographic is towards children and younger audiences, and parents are more willing to buy whats popular (Mario's, Zelda's, Pokemon's etc) to keep their kids quiet and entertained.

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

I'm not talking about sales but about quality. Show me a 3rd party developer that can put more games in a top 10 list of all time from a respected source.

Possible or impossible, WiiU still won't get them, so it doesn't really matter.

OP: 3DS is perfect. ^_^

I agree. If Nintendo made a system that appealed to 'core' use the term loosely, gamers, they would get third party support. Think gamecube without the ugly design. I believe it's in Nintendo.

I consider myself a core gamer, and their systems do appeal to me.

Maybe the GC should have had manly skulls and fire in its design if that is what kept people from buying it.

Casual core then, you know the type I'm talking about, dudebro's into COD. But then the other type of gamers that like Bioshock ect, there aren't many on Nintendo home consoles and haven't been for 2 decades at least.

But is it not true that the top three Nintendo franchises are a tried and true formula, that haven't been changed in nearly twenty~25 years? Is it not true not Mario is the same exact title? Albeit incorporating 3D, the NSMB games are copies of games from 25 years ago. Zelda games adapted 3D, but the new Link between Worlds game is yet another copy of games so similar to the NES days. Pokemon, pfft. You can't possibly argue that its changed since the Red/Blue days.

The tried and true formula only works and exists because it sells to new generations of children, time and time again. They're fantastic games for new gamers, but I can't possibly imagine how fans could play the same exact formula over and over.
