Forums - Gaming - The Weakest of the Console Owns The Best Game of November! so far...

I agree with you. Two people on my job have PS4's and one of them is so excited about his Xbox One, it's embarrassing. I told one of them I was getting Arkham City on the Wii U and I got laughed at. Anyway, I asked each one of them, on different occasions, what are they buying for their new console. All of them said Call of Duty. One of them wrongly believed that he'd be playing Call of Duty on his PS4 against people that own it on PS3. I quit arguing with him. I'm sure he's learned the truth by now.

What the heck? I just don't see the point of buying a new console now just to play the exact same game. I'm looking forward to Friday like it's Christmas come early because I NEED that new Mario game. NSMBU didn't do it for me at all. When the newer consoles offer compelling content, I'll upgrade and not a day before. Power doesn't equal fun. It never has.

So now it's 3DS vs PS4/XB1 because WiiU can't compete?

this is gamers vs publishers. It seems I can't still make a threat that tells what I really want to say.

3rd parties want a stronger system to make games for. Nintendo didn't give it to them.

Nintendo has been showing again and again, that a powerful console is not needed to make games. Besides, they needed powerful consoles to make best games, that is what they have been saying for the last year. They still do when you check developers diary about PS4 for example. My point it is not about Nintendo making the best games (which can be argue) it is about publishers telling you that more power is needed to make good games.

Later in the gen you'll see why power is needed, when there ar PS4/XB1 multiplats that just aren't possible on WiiU, same as last gen.

so, is this gonna be a kinda every month thing??

yes, Nintendo will have to be the first one upgrading their console. Also remember that Nintendo aims to 5 years cycle, so they can have relative powerful hardware with a good price. The other comapnies have been pushing so far in terms of hardware that it can't keep goind on, having really good graphics can get just to a point: the point of diminshing return.

So if someone were to ask you 'Why did you buy the Wii U?' I'm sure you would most likely say 'to play nintendo games'. I dont see how you can view their purchases as embarassing when you are essentially doing the same thing.  That new mario game took a year to come out, I'm sure in a years time there will be that new Halo or that Gran Tursmio and people will have the same reactions as you (in that they would need it).  Those games prove (by being popular through multiple generations) that the PS4/XboxO has games can live off games that dont need power to be fun.  COD is not a graphics beater by any stretch, its a funish arcade shooter.

it doesn't have to, by just demonstrating it one time is enouhg. The weakest hardware by no mean can have a better game than the more powerful cnosoles, according to 3rd party publishers.

Before buying a game, sit down thinking about the company you are giving money. It is an investment, remember that.
