GHOSTS SEE OFF SUPERHEROES

Activision Blizzards' 'Call of Duty: Ghosts' (-76%) easily holds the No1 crown for a second week at the top of the All Formats chart.

The title adds Xbox One to its list of available formats and it sells strongly despite consumers having to wait another week until the next gen console arrives. Despite assembling an all-star cast Warner Bros. Interactive have to settle for No2 as 'Lego Marvel Superheroes' makes its debut. However it does become the 2nd biggest week 1 release for a Lego title bettered only by 'Lego Indiana Jones: Original Adventures' all the way back in Week 23 2008.

'FIFA 14' (-7%) climbs a spot to No3 swapping places with 'Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag' (-37%) which is down to No4. Last week's No2 'Battlefield 4' (-48%) drops to No5 while 'Grand Theft Auto V' (-11%) is down to No6. 'Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition' (+8%) sees a boost in sales but also drops down a place to No7. 'Skylanders Swap Force' (+11%) climbs two places to No8 helped by the early release of both Xbox One and PS4 version of the game ahead of the next gen launch. Nintendo's 'Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy' (+33%) moves up to No10, up three places from its debut last week. The title along with 'Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask' which climbs to No20, both benefit from retailer bundling which contributes to 3DS XL hardware sales more than doubling last week's total.

Further down the chart there's a debut for Sony and developer Insomniac's 'Ratchet & Clank Nexus' at No21. Take2's acclaimed tactical series Xcom is also back with 'Xcom: Enemy Within' landing at No25. The title expands on the universe of 'Xcom: Enemy Unknown' which debuted at No7 in Week 41 last year.

Does RATCHET & CLANK games sell well? Just asking cuz #21 ???? No good?

UK is primarily Xbox, so no, it won't sell too well there.

It is, not likely because of 3DS XL tho. I think the NPD thread said 2DS contributed to over 60% of 3DS sales in the states last month. With the insane deals we've had here I bet it's even higher.

It does contribute though definitely here in the UK. Let's say it contributed just 20% of the sales, that's already a huge increase. 

Also where does it say that about the 2DS? That's amazing if true!

your rigjt, the week with 2ds had that deal with a price reduction and two 2 DS games, the sales for 2DS more than doubled in the UK!

Funny thing though was somebody thought 2DS flopped hard cuz it dropped in price after 2 weeks on the market! Look at themsales

Suprising hold for Layton. Its sales actually sales increased.

Also .. good to see Wii U titles in Top 40.

Layton should be on par with Miracle Mask in its 1st two weeks.
I still don't get how VGC is tracking Layton in Europe, it can't be just 13k.
Miracle Mask should have sales around 4-6k.

I moved this across to the sales discussion forum. Normally "latest charts" is only for the numbers VGC put up.

Anyway, I contributed to that top 40 this week. A sale of the #21. Sadly, #21 is far too low for Ratchet, but Insomniac have been sabotaging the IP for a while. I do wonder how a full PS4 game would actually do these days. Sony would have to throw some significant marketing behind it to get people back on board, I think, and it probably wouldn't be worth it for the sales they'd get.

Ghosts for PS4 still in the chart, so I guess all that bickering last week was for nothing. The Xbone version charting as well, I wonder how it compares to what the PS4 version sold last week.

Lego for Vita a no-show. Sales of these titles are just going to keep getting worse as long as they're low-quality DS ports. I notice that the 3DS version of Batman hasn't shown up at any point, either. I saw it on shelves in Tesco recently, so it's not like it's impossible to find, which is kind of weird.
