Forums - Sony - Should Ken Kutaragi have designed the PS4 instead of Cerny?

Cerny should have designed PS3.

This.

Also, Ken Kutaragi's incompetence nearly drove Sony out of the console market, he's the last person the company needs.

It depends if this is a design flaw (e.g. 360 RROD, PS2 disc read error) or as is likely with most faulty electronic systems, certain parts failing and poor QC.

If it's a fundamental design fault then Cerny is responsible. Otherwise, it's the manufacturing and QC departments that need looking at. From what I've read it sounds like the issues are related to faulty HDMI connectors on the console leading the them bricking. At the moment, we just don't know.

Nope.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

So its actually true then? I thought it was either a few people throwing ps4's into walls while it was installing the update or people were trolling but I guess it really is true... Oh well, every console launches have issues and this one has no exception... Although being bricked right out of the box is pretty bad... Maybe worse then the Xbox 360's RROD or the wiiU being bricked while losing connection during updates cause people have terriable and cheap wifi routers

Thats not what happened.

They bricked because people unplugged them while the consoles were rewriting their firmware.

But that was really blown out of proportion, only a handful of units were affected.

And at the question: No, absolutely not !

The PS2 and 3 were catastrophes from a hardware perspective. Both pretty powerful but needlessly convoluted (there are horror storys out there of developers having to read through phone-book sized japanese manuals to get their devkits on).

The PS4´s and Vita´s hardware were always praised as easy to develop for.

No, all the hardware-problems exist because karma is a Nintendo-fanboy

Nothing to see here folks.

Yep, just like your gaf-thread about 10% more power on PS4.

That's totally on topic.

Anyways, no that would have been a terrible idea.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Sorry, this is a thread about the 0.04% failure rate.

The PS5 Exists.
