Forums - Nintendo - Would you stop buying Nintendo products if they dropped support for the Wii U now?

I think so long as they released the games they had already announced for the Wii U I would forgive them for dropping support. They could sweeten the deal by giving away some virtual console titles.

The console is a failure and it's starting to cause irreperable damage to the brand in the eyes of consumers, third parties and shareholders. As a Nintendo fan I think I'd rather they pulled the plug now and came up with ways to fix those relationships rather than further isolate themselves for the next four years.

Yes. But IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Not even close lol. But yes Wii U is a failure. Period

We have to admit it. The end is near, the Wii U is destroying Nintendo. It's been a good 100 years but they have to go... it's time they drop out and start doing games for the Ouya.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Sure. I still bought Nintendo stuff after they stopped supporting everything else. Why would I stop now? They make good products. I think I've already gotten enough software to justify my Wii U purchase. Not the best library in the world but I bet I already own more Wii U games than most gamers own PS3/360 games.

Anecdotal evidence only, but even users on Nintendolife (the fortress of irrational Nintendo fans!) seem to be getting sick of the system. I personally have gone from never considering owning a Sony or Microsoft console to accepting it's going to be a neccesity if I want to play more than 3 games a year.

As much as Nintendo like to pretend they're not competing with Microsoft and Sony, they definitely are. If I get a PS4 you can bet I'll be spending less money on my Wii U.

I was about to highlight that same point. What a statement. I guess the almost half a million people that bought a 3DS last week and many times that who will buy it over the holidays are seriously damage by brand Nintendo.

You may forgive them for droping the wii u that but I am sure most of the 3.9m wouldn't.

nah but I would be pissed if Nintendo did stop supporting le WiiU

it's not going to happen though as the damage already in place is nothing that can be repaired with a new console that is stronger than WiiU to please the 3rd party devs. there will be more damage if they did

the only way to get out of it and sell WiiUs is if they have something that will attract a wide audience and do it alone just like they did with Wii

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

How long did the Dreamcast live? Sega fans still love 'em.

If nintendo stop suporting wii U, it will be worse to nintendo image.
Just carry on more 3 years, and launch the sucessor.
