Hint for number four.  I prefer random encounters over visible enemies on the battlefield since in my opinion it's more balanced.  If you fight every monster on the battlefield you see, you might get overpowered depending on the game, if you dodge too much, you might be severely underpowered.  RPGs that use the random encounter system can be set up to be more balanced than otherwise, just have to tweak exp gain within the specific area.

Number four uses the best random encounter system ever in video games.  You've got a counter that allows you to avoid getting in a random encounter.  Once this counter hits 0, then you're forced into battle.  The more difficult the enemies, the more points it'll require to avoid.

Wild ARMs 3.

Hints for number three and two. I'll start using # like everyone else. I think maybe people didn't notice them.

#3. Lufia 2 compared to the original is one of the most improved sequels ever. Similarly, the second game in this Playstation RPG series could be looked at as one of the most improved sequels ever or the most improved sequel. It adds everything that wasn't in the first game. World maps that you can traverse, towns, dungeons(or atleast more than one,) the ability to capture and use monsters as party members, etc. The game also has a feature that you can import your save data from the original game, so the characters on that game when you receive them will have the same level if it's high enough, as well as a lot of items.

#2 This game was remade for the PSP. This is not the PSP version though, which I think introduced so many problems that the game isn't even enjoyable to play, adding a massive amount of grinding. New classes that you could change to that started on level one, equipment that had a level requirement, a skill system where there are damage modifiers to the type of enemy you're attacking and increases power against that group the more you level it up by attacking them. The remake was developed and localized by one well known company, while the original game was localized by a different company.

I'm way behind, so I'll just leave all of these up here to be guessed in their own time. I consider clues 1-7 to be especially difficult.

11: One of the finest games of all time, but it's best known for its mod and its successor.
10: Three alarms and you're out? This isn't a video game.

9: Sometimes radically overhauling your game can work wonders as part of a project to bring it back to life.

8: Showed that this developer still has talent, and does actually listen to fan feedback (about something they screwed up pretty badly first time around)

7: This one is dedicated to all of the androids in nearby space by a popular robotic singer.

6: Turn back time and have your revenge...almost.

5: Citrus and root vegetables

4: I'd tell him to shrug.

3: Heads or heads?

2: He came like the wind, like the wind touched everything, and like the wind was gone

1: You don't need a clue for this one.Or if you do, just raise your weapon in the air...

11. Half-Life! Warcraft III

6. God of War II?

5. Portal 2? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyLUU3O4zW8)

As for the rest, no idea. Except for Up Your Arsenal, but Kresnik already got it.

#6 - Final Fantasy XIII (Playstation 3)

Boy, am I in for it now.

Sadly, a vocal minority on the internet seem to have destroyed this game's reputation, with some ridiculously even claiming it to be the worst game of all time. I couldn't disagree more. Although some complaints were genuine, the game was mostly attacked for trying something different, with every aspect of the game being meticulously compared to the games that came before it, rather than being judged on its own merits. In my opinion, this game has the best battle system, the best soundtrack, the best world, the best cinematics, the best presentation and the best art style. Although the game was suffocatingly linear at times, overly simplified and occasionally too melodramatic, these negatives are completely overshadowed by how incredibly well the game does everything else.

Revisiting Gran Pulse after a long period without playing this game always manages to put a smile on my face.

#02

'STAR WARS: Knights of the Old Republic'

for the PC released in 2003.

This behemoth of a game takes the second place on the podium. Remember when I said there's two thing EA should do to get me to buy a game of their's again? This is the second; now that they have the rights to Star Wars video games, make a 'Knights of the Old Republic 3' that's as good as this one. Sadly though, I know, like a real 'SimCity 5', that's not going to happen.

'Knights of the Old Republic' has the best story in a video game. It's simple and engaging at the same time. There's the feeling like the world is bigger that the game and the player is really invested in the wide arrangement of characters. The bigger characters are classics and the writing itself competes with the original Star Wars trilogy capturing it's feeling perfectly. The twist in the storyline is one of the best things to ever happen.

It's the best RPG I've ever played, and it contains pretty much everything I love about a game. It's controls are easy and intuitive and the dialogue system is amazing. The dialogue trees are elaborate and allow the player to play the game in endless different ways. This was the first game that introduced me to such an extensive world, and it sure made a lasting impression.

#01 Hint:

There's still one big game missing from my list, and no, I'm not original and quite predictable. It's that game.

I'll give you a hint for my #1: during the first hours of the game you play as a character that is on vacation (very easy:P)

Are you insane? :O

Jk. I'm not a fan of XIII, but I enjoyed XIII-2 a lot more than I thought I would based off of internet hate.

Hint for #1:

The popularity of this game led to an increase in sales for the real-world version of an item featured prominently in the game.

So here's some games that didn't make my list but should still be mentioned as some of the greats.

Age of Empires, Alleyway, Anno 1404 (Dawn of Discovery), Bioshock, Blast Corps, Call of Duty 2, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, Donkey Kong Country, Dynamite Cop, Empire: Total War, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, The Legend of Zelda NES, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Luigi's Mansion, Medieval II: Total War, Missile Command, Populous III The Beginning, SimCity 2000, STAR WARS: Dark Forces, STAR WARS: Jedi Knight - Dark Forces II, STAR WARS: Shadows of the Empire, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Tetris, Ultimate Mortal Kombat III, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, Wolfenstein 3D.

And whatever other great game I forgot!

Well, well.

What would that be... I'm thinking a certain musical item .

We have the same #1 game, I knew it!
