#6 - Final Fantasy XIII (Playstation 3)
Boy, am I in for it now.
Sadly, a vocal minority on the internet seem to have destroyed this game's reputation, with some ridiculously even claiming it to be the worst game of all time. I couldn't disagree more. Although some complaints were genuine, the game was mostly attacked for trying something different, with every aspect of the game being meticulously compared to the games that came before it, rather than being judged on its own merits. In my opinion, this game has the best battle system, the best soundtrack, the best world, the best cinematics, the best presentation and the best art style. Although the game was suffocatingly linear at times, overly simplified and occasionally too melodramatic, these negatives are completely overshadowed by how incredibly well the game does everything else.
Revisiting Gran Pulse after a long period without playing this game always manages to put a smile on my face.
