'STAR WARS: Knights of the Old Republic'

for the PC released in 2003.

This behemoth of a game takes the second place on the podium. Remember when I said there's two thing EA should do to get me to buy a game of their's again? This is the second; now that they have the rights to Star Wars video games, make a 'Knights of the Old Republic 3' that's as good as this one. Sadly though, I know, like a real 'SimCity 5', that's not going to happen.

'Knights of the Old Republic' has the best story in a video game. It's simple and engaging at the same time. There's the feeling like the world is bigger that the game and the player is really invested in the wide arrangement of characters. The bigger characters are classics and the writing itself competes with the original Star Wars trilogy capturing it's feeling perfectly. The twist in the storyline is one of the best things to ever happen.

It's the best RPG I've ever played, and it contains pretty much everything I love about a game. It's controls are easy and intuitive and the dialogue system is amazing. The dialogue trees are elaborate and allow the player to play the game in endless different ways. This was the first game that introduced me to such an extensive world, and it sure made a lasting impression.

#01 Hint:

There's still one big game missing from my list, and no, I'm not original and quite predictable. It's that game.
